history
The city emerged from the late 1930s as a workers' settlement of the metallurgy combine, which was built at the same time, not far from the Novo-Troitskoye settlement that emerged at the beginning of the 20th century . The village of Akkermanowka , about 5 km to the west , today part of the Novotroitsk district , had had the status of an urban-type settlement since the early 1930s. On January 15, 1941, Novo-Troitskoye was also given the status of an urban-type settlement under the name Novo-Troitsk , and on April 13, 1945 city rights were granted. The current spelling of the name without a hyphen has been official since the 1960s.
The POW camp 235 for German POWs of the Second World War was located in Novotroitsk .

Economy and Transport
Novotroitsk is characterized by the metal industry, which is the largest employer in the city with around 26,000 employees, as well as the chemical and building materials industry. The supply of the city with food is assured, among other things, by a large bakery, dairy and butchery as well as other processing companies. Local public transport is carried by trams , buses and taxis. Novotroitsk is also connected to the railway network, and the major centers of Russia such as Moscow , Samara , Orenburg , Chelyabinsk and Orsk can be easily reached by train. There is also a good road connection to Orenburg and Orsk. There is a small national airport in neighboring Orsk .
Education and culture
Novotroitsk has a good range of schools, day-care centers, sports facilities and branches of various universities. The city's cultural landscape has recently received new impulses, but these are often not enough to promote culture and entertainment, so the city is still rather backward in this area.
religion
The largest denominations are the Russian Orthodox Church and Muslims . Followers of other religions are less represented, including smaller parishes of the Protestant churches .
