history
The place goes back to a fortress called Perevolotskaya krepost , which was built in 1738 on the then southeast border of the Russian Empire to the inner-Asian steppe areas . The name refers to the portage there (Russian wolok; the prefix pere- means, among other things, “over-”) between the Samara and the approximately 7 km south flowing Kamysch-Samara (also Kamysch-Samarka ), which is a good 20 km away in the Urals flows, as an important transport route between the two river systems, especially from the 15th to 17th centuries. The settlement that arose near the fortress came to the Ujesd Orenburg of the governorship of Ufa in 1782 , and from 1796 to the Orenburg governorate .
The settlement only became more important with the construction of the railway line from Samara to Orenburg in 1877, when a station was opened there. After the introduction of the Rajon division in 1928, Perevolotski initially belonged to the Orenburgski rajon, from which the Perevolotsky rajon was spun off on February 13, 1935. From 1963 to 1965 the Rajon was temporarily dissolved.
From 1959 to 1999 the place had the status of an urban-type settlement .
