Ewa Osińska , also German Eva Osinska , (born March 22, 1941 in Warsaw ) is a Polish classical pianist.

life and work

Osińska studied from 1960 to 1965 at the Warsaw Conservatory with Zbigniew Drzewiecki and Ryszard Bakst . At the same time, she studied Romance Studies at the University of Warsaw from 1960 to 1963. She completed in-depth studies with Vlado Perlemuter and Suzanne Roche at the Paris Conservatory. At this conservatory she was awarded a prize for outstanding performance in 1972, especially as a Maurice Ravel specialist.

Osińska won second prize at the Alfredo Casella competition in Naples in 1968 (a first prize was not awarded there) and the 1972 Jaén competition in Spain . In addition, she won a special award for the performance of Spanish music in Jaén . She was advised by her close friend Arthur Rubinstein , especially with regard to the development of the piano works by Frédéric Chopin .

Osińska began her concert career in 1965. She performed in Europe, the United States and China, among others. She participated in music festivals in Mexico City (1982, 1989, 1993), Nohant (1986, 1992, 1999), Echternach (1989, 1992), Duszniki-Zdrój (1989, 1993), Turin (1990), Washington, DC ( 1999) and Gaming (2000). Her repertoire mainly includes works by Johann Sebastian Bach , Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart , Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy , Frederic Chopin , Robert Schumann , Isaac Albéniz , Karol Szymanowski , Alexander Tansman and Sergei Prokofiev . In addition, she gave concerts with the singer Teresa Żylis-Gara in France and Spain and with the Chinese singer Monicą Ling Lin . She performed in a duo with the Polish-Mexican violinist Henryk Szeryng .

Osińska took part as a member of the jury of several international piano competitions in Jaén, Palma de Mallorca , Porto , Bydgoszcz (Artur Rubinstein Memorial Competition), Barcelona (Maria Canals Competition), Valencia , Beijing , Moscow , Donetsk and in Darmstadt . She has given master classes for pianists in Japan, Mexico, France, China and Poland.

Osińska has been a member of the Polish Cultural Foundation in Warsaw since it was founded in 1987. From 1995 to 1998 she was President of the re-established Association of Polish Musicians in Paris. In 1999 she co-organized the celebrations for the 150th anniversary of the death of Frédéric Chopin in France. In 1997 Osińska was awarded the Knight's Cross of the Polish Order.
