Exarsis is a Greek thrash metal band from Kiato that was formed in 2009.

history

The band was formed in 2009 by bassist Chris Poulos and drummer George Oikonomou. Shortly thereafter, guitarist Chris Tsitsis joined the band and began to cover songs from their favorite bands. In February 2010 the guitarist Panayiotis Tsitsis joined the cast, followed in July by the singer Alexis Papatheofanous. The band then recorded a first demo in September, which was sold at the following concerts. In addition to two own songs, the demo also contained a cover version of a Whiplash song. While appearances in Kiato, Athens , Thessaloniki , Corinth , Nafplio and Nemea followed, the band worked on new songs. This resulted in the debut album Under Destruction , which was released in 2011 and was produced and recorded by the band. The album was released through Athens Thrash Attack Records and Eat Metal Records . The band also played with Sodom , Rotting Christ and Onslaught . In the summer of 2012, the band went to GrindHouse Studios to record the second album The Brutal State under the direction of producer George Bokos (ex-Rotting Christ, ex- Nightfall ). The album was mixed by Vasilis Gouvatsos . The cover was designed by Andrei Bouzikov ( Municipal Waste , Vektor , Violator ). In September, a music video for the song Toxic Terror was uploaded to Youtube . In 2013 guitarist Chris Tsitsis left the band to join Suicidal Angels . Meanwhile, the band signed a contract with MDD Records , which was released in March by The Brutal State .

style

The band's songs are mostly about conspiracy theories . Bassist Chris Poulos mentions groups such as Violator, Violence , Nuclear Assault and Cross Examination as musical influences of the band . According to Marcel Rapp from Powermetal.de, the band plays aggressive Thrash Metal on The Brutal State , which is comparable to groups like Municipal Waste, Pessimist , Violator, Total Annihilation and Gama Bomb .
