Exmortus is an American thrash metal band from Whittier , California .
history
After some self-released demo recordings , the band released the EP Reign of the War Gods in 2006 , the first version of which also contains a cover of the Judas Priest song Painkiller from the album of the same name . A second EP called In Hatred's Flame followed in 2008, the equally titled debut album on Heavy Artillery Records . In addition to the same songs as the EP released last year, this contains four new pieces and has been remixed and mastered , as well as a new cover image . The second album Beyond the Fall of Time was also released in September 2011 on Heavy Artillery Records.
The band played concerts with Michael Angelo Batio , Warbringer , Merciless Death , Exumer , Voivod , Fueled by Fire , Vektor and Diamond Plate and in March and April 2009 went on the Masters of Disaster tour through the USA with Bonded by Blood . In June 2011 she played alongside Nuclear Assault , Autopsy , Whiplash , Cattle Decapitation and others at the Slaughter by the Water Festival in Richmond .

style
The band plays Thrash Metal with influences from the New Wave of British Heavy Metal and varieties of Extreme Metal , as well as acoustic inserts. Reviewers praised the performance of the instrumentalists, which was characterized as "excellent" and "impressive". Especially the guitar work with often two-part leads is "very well-founded and varied".
