Reservoirs flowed through Förmitztalsperre

The Förmitz is a right tributary of the Saxon Saale in Upper Franconia .

The source is on the northern slope of the Bergkopf in the Fichtelgebirge on the Brandenstumpf near the entrance to Sparneck . The name is of Slavic origin and means Föhrenbach . The Jean-Paul-Weg on the route from the Großer Waldstein to Sparneck and the Via Porta lead past the source. The Förmitz feeds the Förmitztalsperre , where the outflow into the Saale is regulated. The river gives its name to the village of Förmitz , a district of Schwarzenbach an der Saale . The Lohmühle was powered by the Förmitz as a grain mill.
