Förmitz is a district of Schwarzenbach an der Saale in the Upper Franconian district of Hof .

The place is at the foot of the Waldstein , connecting roads lead to Albertsreuth , Götzmannsgrün and Hallerstein . At the place the Förmitz flows into the reservoir of the Förmitztalsperre. Two stable houses are architectural monuments . In Förmitz there were two mills, called the Upper and Lower Mill. The lower mill was a flour mill that belonged to the Hallerstein rule in 1490 and was incorporated into the village in 1778. It was demolished in 1976. The Obere Förmitzer Mühle was in operation as a grain and cutting mill from the 15th century until 1934/35.
