Posterlitz is a district of Schwarzenbach an der Saale in the Upper Franconian district of Hof .

The Posterlitzbach flows through the wasteland in a side valley of the Saale near Seulbitz . The village can be reached via side streets of the federal road 289 between Seulbitz and Wölbersbach or the district road HO 25 between Seulbitz and Stobersreuth .

Not far from Posterlitz was the Entenlohe desert as a single farm . The Posterlitzmühle, which has not been operated as a grain mill since 1938, was built before 1790.

There is a former quarry in Posterlitz, which is rated as a rare geotope . The metamorphic rock made of amphibolite and gneiss is a special feature .
