Reactions
Press secretary Natalia Timakova declined to comment on the allegations on the grounds that it was a paid political campaign directed against Dmitry Medvedev personally.
The press secretary of the President Dmitry Peskov said that the Kremlin did not attach great importance to the regular publications of Alexei Navalny.
The leader of the United Russia party , Sergei Neverov, asked journalists to take a critical look at the issue and to refrain from spreading the "pseudo-revelations".
The representative of Gazprombank , Ilya Eliseew, which is called in the film as Medvedev's confidant, told the publication to a disinformation campaign, which carry no probative value in itself.
The general director of the agricultural company "Seim-Agro", Andrei Medvedev, who is referred to in the film as the cousin of Dmitry Medvedev, declined to comment on his relationship to the Prime Minister.
Many journalists have criticized the government broadcasters' hushing up this issue and the lack of a response from the government to the allegations. Instead, the political method argumentum ad hominem would be used, in which the prosecutor's personal circumstances would be challenged instead of dealing objectively with the question.
On April 12, 2017, Alisher Usmanov filed a defamation lawsuit against Navalny and his anti-corruption foundation FBK.
