FIBA Euroleague 1999/2000

The season 2000/01 was the only season of the FIBA Europe discharged Suproleague .

In the 2000/01 basketball season there was a special feature that ULEB and FIBA each held a competition for the best European club teams. The ULEB Euroleague ran parallel to the Suproleague . Because of this, there have been two continental champions this season. After the season, the two associations agreed that in future the Euroleague would be the sole competition for Europe's best teams. The Suproleague has been discontinued.

While Maccabi Tel Aviv from Israel won the Suproleague , Virtus Bologna from Italy triumphed in the Euroleague .

20 teams took part in the final round. These were the champions and runners-up in various European leagues. Two groups of 10 teams were formed. The top eight in each group reached the round of 16. The winners of the pairings in the round of 16 and in the quarter-finals were determined by a "best-of-three" series. In the Final Four, one game was decided.
