EuroLeague 2004/05

The season 2006/07 was the 6 . Season of the EuroLeague , the most important competition in European club basketball.

CSKA Moscow won the title . For the Russians it was the first EuroLeague title win. ZSKA has won the European Cup four times .

In this first phase the 24 teams, divided into three groups (A to C), competed against each other in home and away games until each team had played 14 games. The five best from each group as well as the best group sixth qualified for the next round.

Intermediate round (Top 16)

In the second phase of the Euroleague, the remaining 16 teams were divided into four groups (D to G) of four teams each. The performance from the regular season was reflected in the seeding list for the draw. In this phase, too, the teams in each group competed against each other in home and return matches. The two best teams in each group qualified for the next round.

Quarter finals

In a "Best of Three" mode, the remaining eight teams competed against each other in four team encounters. The first in the group from the second phase enjoyed home rights in a possibly required third play-off game. The four teams that won these duels qualified for the Final 4 tournament. The quarter-finals took place between April 4 and 13, 2006.
