The season 2012/13 was 13 . Season of the EuroLeague (officially Turkish Airlines EuroLeague ), the most important competition in European club basketball.
Olympiacos won the title . For the Greeks it was the second win in the EuroLeague.
mode
Of the 24 teams taking part in the EuroLeague, 23 were directly qualified for the group stage, and another place was played in an additional qualifying round. 14 of the directly qualified clubs are in possession of a long-term A license, with one of these licenses switched from Lottomatica Roma to EA7 Armani Jeans Milan before the season starts ; eight other teams qualified through their placement in national or supranational leagues in the preseason and received a B license limited to the 2012/13 season. The C license, which was limited to winning the Eurocup in the previous year , was vacant because the Russian Eurocup winner BK Chimki was already qualified with a B license. This C license was therefore given to the German representative Alba Berlin as a wildcard . The qualifying round was reduced from 16 teams to eight, with only the winner of the tournament getting a starting place for the regular season. The seven other teams started in the 2012/13 Eurocup .
The 24 men were divided into four groups of six teams, wherein each team one home and away game against any other side in the round robin mode ( English round robin denied). The four best-placed teams in each group were assigned to the two groups of the second group phase, in which each team also played one home and one away game against each other team. The seeding list for the draw for the second group phase corresponded to the placements in the preliminary round. The top four teams in the second group phase qualified for the knockout round, which was played as a play-off in the " best-of-five " mode. The four winning teams qualified for the Final Four tournament at The O 2 in London, where the semi-finals and finals and the game for third place were played. These games were simple knockout games.
qualification
A total of eight teams from different countries competed for a starting place in the main round, including two teams that had played at least into the second group phase in the previous season. By awarding a wild card , the quarter-finalist of the previous year UNICS Kazan took part in this qualification, as did the top 16 participants of the previous year, Mapooro Cantù, who hosted the qualification weekend in Desio .

Quarter finals
The quarter-finals did not have to be drawn because the tournament schedule was set before the season.
In the “best of five” mode, the remaining eight teams competed against each other in four team encounters. The first and second in the group from the second phase enjoyed home rights in a possibly required fifth play-off game. The four teams that won these duels qualified for the Final Four tournament. The games took place from April 9th to April 26th, 2013.
Final Four
In a tournament that was played between May 10 and 12, 2013 at The O 2 in London , two teams each competed in semifinals. The winners qualified for the final, from which the winner of the ULEB Euroleague emerged.
Semifinals
The semi-finals took place on May 10, 2013.
