Jaycee Don Carroll (born April 16, 1983 in Laramie , Wyoming ) is an American basketball player . He plays in the position of the shooting guard . Caroll received Azerbaijani citizenship in 2012 .

career

Club career

Jaycee Carroll began his career at Evanston High School in Evanston, Wyoming . After graduating, he spent two years as a Mormon missionary in Chile . From 2004 to 2008 he played for the Utah State Aggies in the Big West Conference (2004/05) and the Western Athletic Conference (2005-2008) of the NCAA . Although he was very successful during his college days and was named Big West Conference Freshman of the Year 2004/05 and Western Athletic Conference Player of the Year 2007/08, no team voted him in the 2008 NBA Draft .

Carroll then moved to the Italian Lega Basket Serie A , where he completed his first season as a professional at Banca Tercas Teramo . He then signed for the Spanish first division club Gran Canaria 2014 . He finished both the 2009/10 and 2010/11 seasons with 19 and 19.6 points per game as the championship top scorer. In his last season with the Canaries , he was also chosen as the best shooting guard in the league's all-tournament team. For the 2011/12 season Carroll moved to Real Madrid . Carroll was able to conquer the trophy in his first season . At the beginning of the 2012/13 season he won the Spanish Supercup , he also reached the final of the Euroleague with Real Madrid and ended the year with a victory in the championship .

National team

Jaycee Carroll received Azerbaijani citizenship in 2012 and qualified for the 2013 European Championship with the national team in the same year .
