Carlos Suárez García-Osorio (born May 23, 1986 in Aranjuez , Madrid ) is a Spanish basketball player . He plays in the position of the small forward .

career

Carlos Suárez began his career in the youth of CB Estudiantes . He made his league debut in the first team of the Madrilenians on October 27, 2004 against Ricoh Manresa . He was able to quickly develop a regular position as a small forward and in his second year in the ACB league he was awarded the title of Jugador Revelación (German: Discovery of the Season). He celebrated his breakthrough in the 2009/10 season when he became the most important player in his club, with an average of 11.5 points, 5.6 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game, the third highest effectiveness value in the league and in the first team Season was chosen.

His successes drew the attention of the country's big clubs, eventually he decided to move to local rivals Real Madrid , where he signed a contract until 2014. After a first year without a title, Carlos Suárez was able to win the trophy with his team in 2011/12 . At the beginning of the 2012/13 season he won the Spanish Supercup , he also reached the final of the Euroleague with Real Madrid and ended the year with a victory in the championship .

In the summer of 2013 he moved to the league rivals Unicaja Málaga .

National team

Suárez won the 2004 U-18 European Championship with Spain as a junior. In the senior team , he made his debut on August 1, 2010 in a friendly against Canada . He was part of the provisional 15-man squad for the 2010 World Cup , but the more experienced Fernando San Emeterio was preferred in the final squad .
