Konstantinos "Kostas" Sloukas ( Greek Κωνσταντίνος "Κώστας" Σλούκας , born January 15, 1990 in Thermi ) is a Greek basketball player who is 1.90 m tall and can be used in the positions of point guard or shooting guard .

Career

Sloukas began his professional career in 2008 at Olympiacos Piraeus . In order to gain more gaming experience, he was loaned to Aris Saloniki for the 2010/11 season. In Thessaloniki , the young guard knew how to convince and, on his return, developed into one of the leading players in the "Red White". Together with his national team colleagues Vangelis Mantzaris , Kostas Papanikolaou and others, he won his first national championship in 2011/12 and in the same year also the Euroleague , the most valuable competition for club teams in European basketball. The team from Piraeus defended this title in the following year. In the final in London , the defending champion from Greece defeated the Spanish record champions Real Madrid with 100: 88 points.

For the 2014/15 season, Sloukas won his second national championship title with Piraeus and the final of the Euroleague was repeated again in 2013 between Real Madrid and Olympiacos. The Spanish won the final in Madrid in front of their home crowd with 78:59 points. After the end of the season, the Guard announced his move to Fenerbahçe Istanbul .

Due to injury, Sloukas paused several games for Fenerbahçe in the 2015/16 season. In the Euroleague, he played all the games in the preliminary round, but was only used in eight out of a possible fourteen games in the second round. With 17 points, the Guard and Bogdan Bogdanović , who also scored 17 points, secured their first victory in the quarter-finals against Real Madrid, which they defeated on April 12, 2016 with 75:69 points. In the restructuring EuroLeague season 2016/17 , Sloukas was still one of the key performers of his team. During the group stage, he contributed 24 points, 7 assists and against Anadolu Efes Istanbul , 21 points and 4 assists, among other victories against domestic Mitliga rivals Galatasaray Odeabank Istanbul . His path also led him back to the Peace and Friendship Stadium on December 29, 2016 . He left this as the Greek champion in the summer of 2015 in favor of Fenerbahçes. Together with Pero Antić , the Guard was honored when he returned to Piraeus for many years of service to his former club. In the following clash, the Turkish selection was defeated by its Greek hosts with 62:71 points. For Fenerbahçe this meant the sixth loss in their fifteenth game. The Turkish champions finished their first half of the season in sixth place. So far, Sloukas had 11.9 points and 5.1 assists per game. In the Turkish league, the Guard was one of the nominees for the All Star Games held on January 15, 2017, which Team Asia won with 140: 135 points against Team Europe.
