Aleksandar "Aleks" Vezenkov ( Greek Αλεξάντερ "Αλέξ" Βεζένκοφ , Alexander "Alex" Vezenkof; born August 6, 1995 in Nicosia , Republic of Cyprus ) is a Bulgarian professional basketball player. The 206 cm and 102 kg heavy man plays in the position of power forward for Olympiacos . He also has Greek and Cypriot citizenship.

Early career

Vezenkov is known as one of the best European basketball players of his age. In 2005 he joined the Cypriot basketball club APOEL Nicosia . Four years later he moved to the Greek club Aris Thessaloniki , where he played with the juniors until 2011.

Professional career

Vezenkov started his professional career in 2011 with Aris Thessaloniki in the Greek league . In 2015 he was voted the most valuable player in the league. Then Vezenkov moved to Spain for FC Barcelona .

Bulgarian national team

Vezenkov played for the Bulgarian U16 and U18 national team, taking part in the following tournaments:
