The association Freie Magazin fm5 was founded on December 18, 2002, is based in Bad Kreuzen in the lower Mühlviertel and is the operator of the German-language electronic magazine Freie Magazin fm5 and organizer of the annual events fm5 birthday party and fm5 sound bath .
It is financed through membership fees, public subsidies , online advertising and the two annual events fm5 birthday party in Vienna and fm5 sound bath in the Bad Fischau thermal baths .
According to its own information, the association has around 30 active members with voting rights, as well as around 4000 dormant memberships.
Free magazine fm5
According to its own information, the Freie Magazin fm5 is a free online magazine that has been appearing monthly since January 6, 2003 , which sees itself as a platform for the areas of art and youth culture and is aimed primarily at a young target group. In particular, the editorial team is dedicated to politics , music , literature and lifestyle . On average, 1800 visitors should access the online magazine every day.
The editorial team consists of around 30 volunteer youths who try to write about topics beyond general media interest. In fm5, the term "free" refers primarily to the non-hierarchical structure and the free choice of topics for all writers. The free magazine fm5 sees itself as a platform and springboard for young people who write, who are offered professional feedback, writing workshops and a collaborative working atmosphere.
Events and projects
The association Freie Magazin fm5 realizes its claim to promote youth culture and less established art forms, in addition to its editorial work, especially through events and other projects. This includes the fm5 birthday party , the fm5 sound bath and the Club Nolabel, which has now been outsourced to its own association . The music platform orangemusic.at was sold, mitfahrboerse.at is currently closed.
FM5 birthday party
The fm5 birthday party is an annual event in January with bands and DJs. While the fm5 birthday party traditionally took place in Baumgartenberg , Upper Austria, up to and including 2010 , the move to Vienna in 2011 took into account the association's shifted focus to the federal capital. 2011 was celebrated in the scene Vienna , 2012 in the belt restaurant B72 . The focus is on a balanced mix of unknown and established artists, bands that have performed in recent years include Velojet , Russkaja , Kommando Elefant , Großstadtgeflüster , Stereo Total , Pilots. and Cherry Sunkist .
FM5 sound bath
The fm5 sound bath took place for the first time on August 26, 2011 and is designed as a summer party for a capacity of around 1000 guests. The venue is the listed Imperial and Royal Thermal Baths in Bad Fischau in Lower Austria . The concept of the event is to offer young people interested in music as well as old regular guests of the bath an interesting program of bathing fun. The price also includes entry to the bathroom.
In 2011 u. a. Francis International Airport , A Life, A Song, A Cigarette , Bensh and Love & Fist . After the great success of the first event, it was decided to hold the annual event, the second fm5 sound bath took place on August 24, 2012, with concerts by Der Nino from Vienna , Steaming Satellites , Fuzzman , A Thousand Fuegos and Diver.
