Career

society

Orellana started his professional career in 2005 with Audax Italiano in Chile. Before that he played in their youth department and was trained there. His speed and dribbling, combined with his nose for goal and his small body size, earned Orellana the nickname Robinho blanco ( The White Robinho ). In the professional team he quickly developed into a high performer, which was also noticed by European scouts. After completing three seasons for the Chilean club, Orellana moved to Udinese Calcio in Italy in mid-2009 , from where he was immediately loaned to Deportivo Xerez in Spain. At Xerez, the offensive player was used regularly. Orellana made his debut in Spain's premier league on October 25, 2009 against CD Tenerife when coach José Ángel Ziganda came on for Carlos Calvo Sobrado in the 57th minute . Nevertheless, he could not avoid relegation to the Segunda División . In summer 2010, he moved to FC Granada . With Granada he rose in 2011 to the Primera División . He was then awarded to the second division club Celta Vigo for the 2011/12 season. Also with Vigo he was able to rise to the highest Spanish league.

After playing for Granada for half a year after the loan ended, he returned to Vigo in January 2013. In January 2017 it was awarded to Valencia CF. He was permanently signed by Valencia for the 2017/18 season.

In January 2018 it was awarded to the SD Eibar . He was firmly signed by the Basques for the 2018/19 season.

National team

In June 2008 he made his debut in the international match against Panama in the Chilean senior team . He had previously played for the country's youth teams. In qualifying for the 2010 World Cup , he and Chile achieved an excellent second place behind group winners Brazil . During qualifying, he scored two goals in Santiago against Argentina and in Medellín against Colombia. The first meant the Chileans' first victory against Argentina in a qualifying match, the second secured them a ticket to the World Cup. In May 2010 he was appointed to the squad for the 2010 Soccer World Cup . There he came in the 1: 2 defeat in the group game against Spain for a 25-minute short assignment. In the quarter-finals, the team lost 3-0 against Brazil.
