Paulo André Rodrigues de Oliveira (born January 8, 1992 in Vila Nova de Famalicão ) is a Portuguese football player .

Career

In the club

Paulo Oliveira played for his hometown club FC Famalicão for five years as a youth before moving to Vitória Guimarães' youth department in 2005 . In 2010 he moved up to the professional squad. For the 2011/12 season he moved on loan to second division club FC Penafiel and made his professional debut. For the 2012/13 season Oliveira returned to Vitória Guimarães, but initially continued to play in the second division for the B team of the club. On January 5, 2013, he finally made his debut in the Primeira Liga and developed into a regular player. At the end of the season he and his club celebrated the first cup win in club history after a final victory against Benfica Lisbon , in which he was in the starting line-up . Prior to the 2014/15 season , Oliveira signed a five-year deal with Sporting Lisbon .

In the national team

Oliveira made 46 international appearances for the Portuguese youth national teams, including 23 games for the U21 team . On March 31, 2015 he made his debut under national coach Fernando Santos as part of a friendly against Cape Verde (0-2) in the senior team .
