Fabian Böke

Fabian Böke (born March 27, 1986 in Bückeburg ) is a former German basketball player . The 2.08 m tall power forward played in the 2nd Bundesliga , the US college league NCAA and was a member of the German A2 national team.

Career

Böke grew up in the city of Halstenbek in Schleswig-Holstein and began playing basketball at the age of twelve in the youth of SC Rist Wedel . Later positions in the youth field were VfL Pinneberg and BC Hamburg, where he made the leap into the regional league men's team in 2003/04. In 2004 he took part in the Albert Schweitzer tournament in Mannheim with the German U18 national team and then switched to the basketball boarding school at Urspring School . There he was promoted by Ralph Junge and played for the Ursprings partner club TSG Ehingen in the 2nd basketball league .

In 2004, 2005 and 2006 Böke was part of the German U20 national team and in 2007 part of the A2 national team.

In 2007 he went to Washington State University on a full scholarship . His teammates there included the later NBA players Klay Thompson and Aron Baynes . Due to an injury problem, Böke only played three games for "WSU", but completed a bachelor's degree in communication studies.

He returned to Germany and joined the Ehingen team again in December 2010, with whom he won the championship title in the 2nd Bundesliga ProB in spring 2011 .

In 2012, Böke moved back to Rist Wedel and was a top performer until his retirement in 2015. In the 2014/15 season he reached the ProB final with the North Germans and lost there against Oldenburg.
