Fabian Scholz (born January 8, 1990 in Zell am See ) is an Austrian ice hockey player who has been playing in the Alps Hockey League at EK Zell am See since 2016 .
Career
Scholz began his career at EK Zell am See in his hometown, but at the age of 14 he switched to the youth division of the Austrian first division club EC Red Bull Salzburg and won the championship title in the highest youth division with the club's U-20 team in 2006 win. After another year in Salzburg, he tried his hand at abroad for the first time and began the 2007/08 season with Ilves Tampere in the Finnish junior league. However, after only seven games he returned to his home club. A year later he tried again and moved to the junior team of VIK Västerås HK in Sweden, where he only stayed for one semester. At the beginning of the 2009/10 season he signed a contract with the EC KAC , where he was deployed in the combat team and the U-20s. In the summer of 2010, Scholz moved to Upper Austria , where he played in defense at EHC Linz until 2014 . He then moved to EC Graz 99ers in Styria , where he only played one game before joining the second division club VEU Feldkirch in December 2014 . In 2015 he got a new chance in the Austrian ice hockey league with the Slovenian top club HDD Olimpija Ljubljana , but left it in February 2016 to play with the Eispiraten Crimmitschau in the DEL2 , where he only made two appearances. Since 2016 he has been on the ice for EK Zell am See in the newly founded Alps Hockey League in his hometown .
International
Scholz completed a total of 23 missions in the junior national teams, with a total of seven points scorer. He took part in the U18 World Championships in 2007 and 2008 and the U20 World Championships in 2008 and 2009 in Division I. After he was promoted in 2009, he played with the Austrian U20s at the 2010 World Cup in the top division.
He made his debut in the Austrian men's selection on March 31, 2011 in Rosenheim in the 7-0 defeat in the friendly against Germany .
