Mon- Thurs was an Italian music project around the singer and performer Fabio Frittelli (born July 24, 1966 in Monfalcone , province of Gorizia ; † February 6, 2013 in Udine ). The Mo-Dos style can best be described as Eurodance .

history

Mon-Thu was a Eurodance project for which Fabio Frittelli was cast as a singer. Frittelli's mother Silvana was an Austrian teacher, his father Graziano a translator, and he had two sisters. He was first leader of the hard rock band Blue the King , then bass player in a group called Validi Alibi . He also worked as a model for Dolce & Gabbana , JP Gaultier , Armani and Kenzo . Together with producer Claudio Zennaro , the Mo-Thu project was created, the name of which is made up of the first two letters of Frittelli's birthplace, Monfalcone, and his birthday, Domenica (Italian for Sunday). When performing, Frittelli was supported by the two dancers Barbara Cusin and Manuela Cosanza.

The international breakthrough came with the first single Eins, Zwei, Polizei , produced in Udine , the text of which is based on a nursery rhyme and which is inspired by Falco's Der Kommissar and trios Da da da . Co-producers were Claudio Zennaro and Fulvio Zafret. After the single had first reached number one in the Italian charts in May 1994, the title also reached Austria and Germany via the clubs, where it also rose to the top of the charts.

The follow -up single Super gut followed a similar scheme: a simple line of text over which a fast techno rhythm is laid. It reached charts in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. With further publications, Mon-Thu could no longer build on these successes. In 2001 Dancing Ferret and ZYX Music , Mo-Dos contract label, ended their contract with the project. In 2003, Frittelli co-wrote and produced the single Dance with the Robots from Space 2999 . It was published in February of the same year. As a music producer, he was also responsible for groups such as F&F and 24 Monkeys . In 1999 a comeback attempt failed, in 2008 Mon-Thu released a new record for the first time together with the German hands-up DJs from Bangbros , a new edition of their hit Eins, Zwei Polizei .

Most recently, Frittelli was co-owner of the Mr. Charlie disco in Udine . He was fluent in Italian , German and English . He died on the afternoon of February 6, 2013 in his home in Udine. The police assumed that the cause of death was suicide.
