Fabio de Matos Pereira (mostly Fabinho ; born February 26, 1982 in Rio de Janeiro ) is a Brazilian football player . He has been without a club since June 2013.
Career
Fabinho was born in Rio de Janeiro and played in the youth of the Friburguense Atlético Clube , in the district of Nova Friburgo (German: Neu Freiburg) which was founded by Swiss immigrants from Freiburg in Üechtland . After his youth there he moved to Athletico Paranaense at the age of 21 , at the club from Curitiba Fabinho played until 2006 and has meanwhile been awarded to Paysandu SC in the Série C and to Sociedade Esportiva Tiradentes .
After the contract at Paranaense was not renewed, he moved to Anorthosis Famagusta in the Cypriot First Division . There the very small Fabinho came to a total of 38 appearances and scored 4 goals. In 2008 he played for the Romanian second division club FC Brașov who rose to the first division at the end of the season .
On September 18, 2008 it was announced that Fabinho had signed a three-year contract with Metalurh Donetsk . In the 2008/09 season he reached 4th place in the table with Metalurh, and played the 3rd qualifying round of the Europa League against Interblock Ljubljana in the 2009/10 season , where Fabinho was used in the return leg. In the play-off defeat against Austria Vienna , he was not used. After two years in Ukraine, he moved to Ermis Aradippou in Cyprus one year before the contract expired . There he finished 8th under coach Christos Kassianos at the end of the season.
In February 2011, Fabinho signed a contract with Skonto Riga in Virslīga, Latvia . However, he only stayed there until the end of the season, before moving back to Brazil in January.
