NEA in operation

The specialist group electrical supply (FGr E) as a specialist group of the THW operates temporary power supply by means of emergency power systems for damage or emergency locations, emergency accommodation, communal energy supply systems, facilities and companies of public interest as well as for other consumers. It carries out repairs to electrical supply systems that cannot be postponed to eliminate dangers and emergencies. In the THW assignment abroad, she takes on tasks from her entire range of services. The electrical supply specialist groups were created as the successor to some of the earlier repair trains.

  • explores damaged areas, determines damage and informs or advises unit leaders / operations leaders
  • secures danger spots
  • secures damaged areas in electrical supply systems
  • carries out safety measures on electrical supply networks to prevent accidents caused by electrical current
  • operates temporary backup power supply for the population, for vital systems and businesses as well as public interest facilities by means of mobile emergency power systems
  • feeds into network sections
  • supplies the units and facilities of the THW and other consumers with electricity from emergency power systems
  • repairs, builds and complements (within the scope of their possibilities) electrical supply systems in the low-voltage range to maintain vital facilities
  • supports the energy supply companies
  • supports the logistics specialist group in testing portable electrical appliances
  • It carries out all tasks in the public network under supervision and in cooperation with the energy supply companies.
  • All of the above-mentioned tasks can be taken on when deploying abroad.

Vehicles / equipment

  • 7 t truck with tail lift
Truck 7 t payload, all-terrain (gl), tarpaulin / bow, hydr. Tail lift 1.5 t, 1 + 2 places
The truck is used to transport the emergency team (1 + 2) and to carry equipment.
  • Emergency power system 200 kVA (Annex NEA 200 kVA)

Power generator 200 kVA, 230 V / 400 V, 50 Hz, on a 2-axle trailer

The NEA 200 kVA trailer is used for temporary power generation and is suitable for parallel power supply.
  • Equipment
The equipment of the FGr E includes extensive line and distribution material for the use of the NEA, as well as special tools, test and measuring devices for working on low-voltage networks or systems and various auxiliary and safety devices. Most of the manual tools with staff for support work are provided by the rescue teams.
