Faith van Helsing is a German-language horror radio play series for adults that has been in production since 2005. The first season of the series was published under the title Faith - The van Helsing Chronicles .

The series is about Faith van Helsing, a young woman who, as the last surviving descendant of Abraham van Helsing, fights with a group of friends against the forces of darkness.

content

Season 1 (episodes 1-14)

Faith, Shania and Vin are introduced to the world of demons. Faith learns that she is half human, half angel and was adopted as a baby and Shania and Vin begin the fight against evil with her. The long-planned intrigue surrounding Faith's father is coming to an end. The animal 666, aka director Arowic, ensured that Adam van Helsing wiped out almost the entire van Helsing family. After Faith has been told about her true identity by Christopher, the beast creates new intrigues to attack Faith's psyche and isolate her from everyone. Finally Faith no longer knows who to trust and turns to Director Arowic ignorantly. This leads Faith to Greece to the "Theo Gea Portan" and tells her that she can close Pandora's box with her blood forever. But on the contrary, Faith opens the box and brings mischief to the world. Raven ultimately sacrifices himself to close the box and Arowic can be destroyed.

Season 2 (episodes 15-31)

Dracula makes an intrigue that Shania and Vin separate and that they distance themselves from their friends. He sees in her the rebirth of his wife and hopes through Shania's love to be released from his curse of being an immortal bloodsucker. Meanwhile the “Golden Dawn” tries in a radical way to free the world from all meta-beings.

More episodes (from episode 32)

3 years have passed since the last fight and the dark side is noticeably calm. But then the Order of the Kraken succeeds in reawakening evil in the world. Faith's amulets are stolen and Shania is killed. Vin falls for alcohol and goes to England. Alaine de Winter, the former mandrake joins the Faith team and after initial difficulties a friendship develops between Faith van Helsing and the former demoness. Faith's world falls into emotional chaos when the newly inflamed love with Daniel Drake is disturbed by the return of Raven. She is torn. The moment the love for Raven is strongest, the Slayer is transformed. Faith receives the kiss of blood and you learn what happened in the Christ building, which contained the black sun. The events around Raven are also examined, as well as the secrets of Daniel Drake and Brandolf Welf brought closer to the listener. The Order of the Kraken unleashes an ancient power with the amulets. Faith and her team are in great danger as the Ancient Ones are entering the Faith universe. The hunt begins again.

Characters

Status: episode 50.

Faith van Helsing

Faith is the protagonist of the Van Helsing Chronicles and also largely the narrator of her adventures.

She grows up as a normal person with her adoptive parents Ellen and Dave Miles, but one day Valeria and Rufina kill them in an intrigue. From then on, her biological father, Christopher van Helsing, takes over the upbringing of the 17-year-olds and initiates them into the world of the supernatural. She learns that her mother Melissa van Helsing was killed when Faith was still a baby because of false information from Hunter, and that she owes her angelic powers to him.

As a half angel, she has superhuman strength, speed and skill. By wearing the amulets "Lucifer's Tears", she can transform herself into a shimmering blue angel figure with huge wings and thus has even more strength and abilities. They also keep Faith alive as they replace Faith's broken heart in Episodes 14 through 31. Faith recreates her heart through the black sun, but needs the amulets to transform herself into her angelic form. In episode 32, the amulets are stolen from her by the Order of the Octopus. Furthermore, in the fight with the Blutengel Azazel, she receives his blood sword and learns to wield it in battle. Armed with all of these weapons and skills, Faith calls herself "the Slayer". She also learns that the entire van Helsings clan are the descendants of Jesus Christ and that Faith herself has the "blood of Christ" in her. She also receives the "Christ Lance" as the latest weapon.

In episodes 8 to 14, the pretty black-haired woman is with Raven. During the relationship (episode 10) she is accidentally bewitched by Shania and fathered a child with the prophet of the beast 666, Alex Christ. After the premature birth triggered by a fight with Shania (episode 21), the child is stolen by the doctor, Doctor Jack Warren, without her knowledge. She has since thought it was dead. In the second season, two artificially created by Warren doubles of Faith appear, who temporarily take their place as the main character (see Angel Dark and Melissa Shadow ). They are later officially declared to be their sisters. Faith's birthday is September 13th.

Shania Francis

Shania is a sandpit friend of Faith and Vin. She goes to high school with Faith. The 17-year-old has inherited her grandmother's white-magical fairy powers, which she can release for the first time in episode 2. With her help and some old magic spells she is able to create green glowing force fields, energy balls and magical handcuffs. It can also teleport itself and others over short distances and even transmit data and information from a computer to the human brain. Anyway, she's very interested in computers.

In episodes 6-18, she is in a relationship with her and Faith's childhood friend, Vin Masters. The cursed Vlad Tepes alias Dracula, however, hypnotizes Vin and thus causes him to cheat on her with his ex-girlfriend Delia Richards and thus break up with Shania. Deeply hurt, Shania seeks consolation in Vlad Tepes and lets him seduce her into a relationship. When Faith learns about the relationship, she and Shania get into an argument in which Shania injures Faith, which leads to her giving birth to her child prematurely (episode 21). Since the child is later declared dead (see Melissa van Helsing ), Shania blames herself and distances herself from her friends.

Dracula succeeds in making Faith and the others believe that Shania is dead and in return tells her the same thing about her friends (see Dracula ). It is only in episode 27 that Brandolf Welf and Nathan Pierce find Shania, who has been half turned into a vampire, in Dracula Castle and can make it clear to her what he did to her. When Vlad dies in battle, Shania tells him that she loves him, releasing him from his undying curse. Shania is always there for her friends and finally dies in episode 32 of the "Order of the Kraken" trying to save Faith's life. Shortly before her death, she confesses to Vin that she has never stopped loving him and transfers her fairy powers to Delia Richards.

Melvin "Vin" Masters

Vin is a sandpit friend of Faith and Shania. He's a little older than the two of them and goes to college at the beginning of the series. His skills can be traced back to the magician Merlin, of whom he is a descendant. On his 21st birthday (episode 22) he receives "Merlin's Ring" and its amulet, or "gem", from his British grandmother, and as a result becomes the bearer of the magic sword Excalibur (episode 25). He is an excellent fighter and sword master and also has the magic of Excalibur.

In the fifth episode he is briefly with Delia Richards, but after he learns that she is a demon, he breaks up with her. In the following episode he can finally confess his love to Shania and becomes her boyfriend. However, after Dracula hypnotizes him (episode 17), he gets involved with Delia again and separates from Shania. Even when Dracula's intrigue is exposed, he stays with Delia, but his feelings for Shania are never completely lost. When she dies, he tells her that he has always loved her and falls into a deep depression from which even Delia cannot save him. Although the two have since become engaged, Vin falls for alcohol and his fellow student Denice Dubois, with whom he finally cheats on Delia. He finally separates from Delia and goes to England. There he helps Faith and the team in the case of the Dartmoor Blood Lake. (Episode 36)

Christopher van Helsing (Christopher Lane)

Christopher is the father of Faith and the brother of Adam van Helsing. As a member of the van Helsing family, he fought against demons and ghosts for years and can therefore handle swords and other weapons well.

He was previously married to Melissa, Faith's mother, but when she was killed by Hunter shortly after Faith's birth, he brought Faith from England to America and put her up for adoption so that he, Hunter, and everyone else could not find her . When Hunter finally tracks her down after 17 years, Christopher re-enters Faith's life. He calls himself Christopher Lane and says he's a friend of Faith's late father. After initiating Faith, Shania and Vin into the world of the supernatural, he fights against evil with Raven at their side. Finally, Faith mistakenly thinks Hunter is her father when Christopher finally manages to tell her the truth (episode 12).

In episode 15 he meets the English teacher Vanessa Fox in the German city of Leonberg. For the first time since Melissa's death, he approaches a woman. Eventually Vanessa comes to America with the group and even wants to marry Christopher. On the day of the wedding (episode 28), Christopher learns that Vanessa was only looking for revenge for her dead sister (see Vanessa Fox ) and is almost killed by her. But at the last moment he can dissuade her from her plan and the two still marry.

Hunter (Adam van Helsing)

Adam van Helsing is the brother of Christopher van Helsing. Once the two fought together against demons and monsters, but then they fell victim to an intrigue by Alex Christ, the prophet of the beast 666. Christ confused Christopher's spirit so that Adam attacked and seriously injured. Left alone and near death Adam was saved by Christ with a serum that makes him faster and stronger, but also darkens his soul. Christ was able to convince Adam that he was Melissa's husband and Faith's father and that Christopher, Melissa and all the other van Helsings had been corrupted and betrayed by a demon race called "Kuslak" (episode 11). Since then, Adam has called himself "Hunter" and hides his face under a black hood to hide the scars that Christopher had inflicted on him during the fight.

Corroded by anger, Hunter killed all of Van Helsing's except Christopher and Faith, who were able to escape him by accident (see Melissa van Helsing ). When he finds Faith again after 17 years, he lets Faith's adoptive parents - Dave and Ellen Miles - kill his henchmen Valeria and Rufina because he believed they were also in league with the Kuslaks. But little by little he has doubts about Christ's statements and wants to stop working with him. In the fight between the two, Christ Hunter returns his real memories and the intrigue can be resolved. Hunter has always loved "his daughter" and just wanted to protect her from the Kuslaks. In episode 14 he leads his last fight against Director Arowic, who is in truth the beast 666, and falls with him to his death.

Valeria

Valeria is a witch who used to lead a quiet life in Europe with her lover, the vampire Rufina. One day the two joined Hunter and took him to Shell Ville. There, the two Faith 'adoptive parents kill believing that they are demonic shape-shifters (Kuslaks). With the help of spells, Valeria can throw opponents away or direct bundled energy at them. She can also teleport herself and others from place to place and "scan" people to find out if they are humans or demons.

In episode 10, some of their magic accidentally spills over onto mobster Rick Mitchum, who then becomes an undead. Out of anger, he kills Valeria. Her sister Vanessa Fox, who lives in Germany, later comes to America to avenge her death (see Vanessa Fox ).

Rufina

Rufina is a vampire who used to live with her lover, the witch Valeria, unrecognized by the people in Europe. When the two joined Hunter, they took him to Shell Ville and took on Faith and her friends. Fed with misinformation, Rufina and Valeria killed Faith's adoptive parents because they believed they were shape-shifting demons (kuslaks).

The pretty, blonde woman likes to dress provocatively in order to charm innocent men and to suck them out in undisturbed moments. Otherwise their skills are limited to increased strength and speed. She is also almost immortal, as only a blow to the heart or the chopping off of her head could kill her.

After Valeria was killed by Rick Mitchum in episode 10, she decides to withdraw from the fight. She writes Faith a letter telling her the supposed truth about her father and goes back to Europe.

Raven

Raven is an angel (Angelin) who has to eke out his existence on earth. When Lucifer and his angelic army rebelled against God, Raven behaved neutrally towards both sides and was banished from heaven because of his cowardice. As an even greater punishment, he received the body and memories of the recently deceased woman murderer Marek Ravinowsky, with whose sins and thoughts he has to live day after day.

Raven is superhumanly strong and fast and knows a lot about martial arts and fighting with weapons. In addition, he can see in the dark and - especially when his emotions overwhelm him - shoot blue energy beams from his eyes at opponents. It is also possible for him to travel through time. As Angelin he doesn't have to eat, sleep or breathe. Plus, Raven doesn't age - he's been on Earth for over 200 years. What very frustrates the young blond man is the fact that he is sexless in his human body, because he feels neither an angel nor a man.

In episode 8, despite great doubts, Raven enters into a relationship with Faith that is not shaken when Faith becomes pregnant by Alex Christ. Finally Raven sacrifices his life for Faith and closes the Geo Thea Portan (the gate to the world of gods) with his blood so that Faith is spared this fate (episode 14). Faith never really gets over this loss. In episode 20, Raven Faith appears in a dream and tells her that he is not dead, but only on a journey. In episode 23, Faith's first doppelganger, Melissa Shadow, dreams of Raven and the birth of Faith's daughter Melissa.

Lester Ley Arowic

Arowic is the principal of the high school that Faith van Helsing and Shania Francis go to. In episode 7, by chance, he learns about the psychic powers that Faith and the others have to deal with. Since then, he has stood by Faith and helps her as best he can in the fight against evil.

But after he brought Faith to Geo Thea Portan (the gateway to the world of gods), he reveals his true identity as Aleister Crowley alias the beast 666. It turns out that he sent his prophet Alex Christ, Adam van Helsings, 17 years ago To cloud the spirit and to wipe out the van Helsing clan - except for Faith (see Hunter ). He initiated the killing of Faith's adoptive parents and everything that followed. Ultimately, he brought her to Greece (episode 12/13) to Geo Thea Portan to sacrifice her life - the life of a half angel -, to open Pandora's box and to plunge the entire world into perdition. He rips out Faith's heart and kills her with it, but with the help of "Lucifer's Tears" she returns to life stronger than ever and fights him with all her might. He is eventually killed by Adam van Helsing (episode 14).

Nathan Pierce

Nathan Pierce has long been a close friend of Christopher van Helsing and an important ally in the fight against the supernatural. He has been fighting at Christopher's side for a long time and is just as knowledgeable about demons as he is. Again and again he turns to him with cases of a superhuman nature and asks him to help here and there. Nathan has direct contact with the British "Guild of Amulets", which deals with paranormal phenomena around the world. They have liaison officers in the governments of all countries and work closely with all secret services.

Brandolf Welf

The German demon hunter lives in the “Palais Welf” mansion in Weil der Stadt. He is described as a tall, sturdy man with a long, brown coat and wide-brimmed hat, under which his face, covered with brown stubble, is mostly hidden. He used to be a mercenary and legionnaire and was trained in many martial arts. He is also a smoker and atheist. The self-proclaimed "demon destroyer" (or "bounty hunter of the shadow world") has a special resistance to demonic attacks, so that he does not die, for example, from the poison of the dangerous psychofagus (aka Sin Eater), which is even capable of angels to kill (episode 6). In matters of the supernatural he is even more educated than Christopher van Helsing and Nathan Pierce and also wields many demon-specific weapons (e.g. silver arrowheads or balls filled with incense), with which almost every demon is easily inferior to him. He can also read and understand Henoric, the language of angels (episode 14).

With all these skills he travels through Europe and does paid assignments, including for the Vatican (episode 6). In the same episode, Brandolf also explains that he is against the (Catholic) Church, but not against God himself.

In later episodes, Brandolf becomes Vin Masters' instructor in dealing with Excalibur, since Brandolf is also a sword master. The secret of Brandolf Welf's incredible strength and his quick self-healing powers is resolved in episode 42.

Delia Richards

Delia is a succubus - a demon who sucks out the love energy of men during the act of love in order to nourish themselves from it. To this end, it suits her that she has a blonde, slim, tall, and beautiful appearance. As a child, she was betrothed by her parents to the Incubus (the male equivalent of a Succubus) Levi. Delia fled from him, but Levi followed her and killed all of her lovers. In episode 5, she meets Vin Masters for a short time, but Levi follows her again and targets Vin too. Faith kills Levi and Delia is finally free. Vin cannot deal with her story and the fact that she is a demon and breaks up with her.

In order to get to Shania, Dracula hypnotizes Vin in order to bring about the apparently "voluntary" separation between him and Shania and instills him to start a relationship with Delia again. This happens unnoticed by the others. Delia is also clueless and happy about it, as she had genuinely loved Vin from the start. During this time, Faith and Shania also referred to her as "Succubine" (a mixture of "Succubus" and "Concubine"). In the course of the ongoing relationship, she becomes engaged to Vin and remains loyal to him despite her lust for demons. In episode 33 she gets into a crisis with Vin, because he is moving away from her because of Shania's death.

Your main skill is empathy. In addition, she manages to undo the brainwashing of the "real" Faith (episode 30). Shortly before Shania's death, she transfers her white magic fairy powers to Delia, so that she becomes a strong member in the fight against evil.

Vanessa Fox

Vanessa Fox is the sister of the witch Valeria and therefore a witch herself. Faith, Christopher and the others meet her in episode 15 in the German city of Leonberg when they investigate the case of the murderous Blutengel. There she works as an English trainee due to her English origins. Vanessa and Christopher quickly approach and finally Vanessa and the group come to Shell Ville. The two decide to get married.

On their wedding day (episode 28), Vanessa is apparently killed by Dracula, whereupon Christopher follows him furiously to get him out of the way for good. But instead of Dracula he meets Vanessa, who only faked her death in order to avenge the death of her sister. Dracula had told her that it was Christopher who killed Valeria at the time. When it's almost too late, Christopher convinces her that Dracula lied to her and she lets him live. He is recovering from his physical and psychological wounds. The two start over and get married after all.

Lutherus unicorn

Lutherus Einhorn first lived as Vogt in Leonberg around 1615 and at that time made a pact with the dark powers in order to be able to live forever. The price for this was that he had to bring the souls of "white witches" to Hell. Thus he became known for his numerous witch burnings.

At his side stood his lover mandrake (see mandrake) and the Blutengel. Finally he was defeated by Raven, who put the Blutengel in stone and mandrake in a magisser's ring.

In episode 16 he reappears as an antique dealer and tells Christopher and Vanessa the story of the Blutengel. In the following episodes he is in league with Dracula, but in the fight with the Golden Dawn he betrays them and disappears.

Mandrake / Alaine de Winter

Mandrake is a plant demon whose clothing is made of plants and whose fingers can turn into long, deadly roots. She has the ability to bring the dead back to life as necrophytes. These can then dissolve in one place and reappear in another.

In the past she was the lover of Lutherus Einhorn and caused mischief at his side. But in the 17th century she was banned by Raven in a Magisserring, which was guarded by the Marquart family for many generations. In episode 17, she is freed by a few careless boys and finds herself again at Einhorn's side. She first fights with him at Dracula's side, but escapes with the unicorn during the fight with the Golden Dawn.

After she lost her memory for three years through Faith and the black sun, her human side can take control again. It turns out that she is Alaine, the daughter of the musketeer Athos and the Lady de Winter, whose body was taken over by the demon Mandrake. After she can act freely again, she helps Faith and her friends in the fight against evil.

Vlad Tepes (Dracula)

Vlad Tepes lived in what was then Wallachia in the 15th century when the Ottomans attacked the country. Tepes opposed them with his small army and was finally able to defeat the Ottomans. He had his opponents beheaded and staked on the battlefield and was nicknamed "The Impaler". When he returned home, he learned that his beloved wife Elisabetha had died. A traitor had told her, as the Ottomans wanted, that Tepes had died in the war, whereupon Elisabetha killed herself.

Tepes was until then a very Christian and God-fearing person, but after the news of the death of his wife he cursed God and killed the clergy who were in his service. He was then cursed to be an immortal bloodsucker forever. If he is killed, he is able to regenerate over a period of time (episode 21). It can also turn into a kind of fog or smoke. Vlad can only find redemption if the rebirth of his wife forgives him and voluntarily turns into a bloodsucker. From his words it is clear that it was God who cursed him, but God speaks unmistakably in the voice of Lucien le Fouet (see devil ).

Dracula (also Dracul or Draculea) appears in episode 17 in Shell Ville. His goal is to destroy all people in order to create a new world without religions and with him as sole ruler. In Shell Ville he meets Shania, whom he immediately approaches because he sees in her the rebirth of Elisabetha. Furthermore, he hypnotizes Vin so that he cheats on Shania and the two separate. Tepes and Shania immediately become a couple. Shania soon learns that Tepes is "Dracula", but she keeps it a secret from her friends. According to the curse, he leaves it up to her whether she wants to take the last step to transform into a vampire or not.

In episode 21, Faith and the others find out who is behind Vlad Tepes. For a short time they fight together against the Golden Dawn. After the fight, Dracula pretends to the world that he and Shania are dead, whereas he tells Shania that Faith and her friends are dead. In episode 26, it becomes clear that Dracula also hypnotized Shania to keep her with him forever.

Brandolf Welf and Nathan Pierce cannot find Shania in the castle in Transylvania until episode 27. You can finally make it clear to her that Vlad lied to and manipulated her. Although Shania leaves Dracula in anger, she loves him to the last. In Dracula's last fight he is fatally injured and Shania forgives his sins so that Tepes can finally be redeemed (episode 31).

Michael (Bill Jackson)

Michael has been working for Vlad Tepes for 3 years. He acts as his servant, secretary and ally. But in truth Michael is called "Bill Jackson" and works for the British secret service. He should win Dracula's trust and spy on his machinations.

Adam (Frankenstein's Creature)

Adam was once a simple traveling merchant who sold earthenware dinnerware. He had a wife and children. In 1713 he was killed by the creatures (ghouls) of Johann Konrad Dippel von Frankenstein on his orders. Frankenstein, who was in league with the devil, patched Adam back together from body parts and brought him back to life with the help of black magic. When the villagers lynched Frankenstein, Frankenstein Castle collapsed and buried Adam for about 100 years.

During the reconstruction by Viktor von Frankenstein, the latter found the unconscious but living Adam and awakened him with the help of science. Viktor von Frankenstein finally killed his own fiancée and wanted to resuscitate her too, in order to give her to Adam as a bride. But the resuscitation failed because Viktor von Frankenstein did not use black magic. Adam then pursued him across Europe to avenge the fiancée. He placed him at the North Pole and killed him. This ended the bloodline of the Frankenstein family (episode 19).

Adam is now over 300 years old and lived for a long time in a game reserve on an island near Canada and the North Pole (episode 15). There he is saved from the Golden Dawn by Dracula. He works for Dracula until Dracula fakes his death without telling him. He realizes that Dracula is only interested in his own good and takes Faith's side.

Doctor Jack Warren (Wolfram Luitat)

The German geneticist Wolfram Luitat is behind Doctor Jack Warren. From 1942 to 1945 he was Adolf Hitler's personal physician and developed plans with him to create “pure” human clones. Since Adolf Hitler was unable to reproduce, Warren cloned an embryo from Hitler's DNA and implanted it in his wife Eva Hitler. This child became Dragan Semyon Lyssakovich (episode 30).

Through Hitler and Dragan's hereditary disease, polyphenism, Warren discovered the formula of his "Methuselah serum" that he uses to age more slowly. He is now over 120 years old, but doesn't look older than 55. Warren has been researching the decoding, modification and replication of human DNA for more than 70 years (episode 30). His specialty is cell nucleus analysis.

The power-addicted doctor manipulated Lyssakowitsch for years with injections in order to keep him and his illness under control. After he has reached his goal at Lyssakowitsch's side, the building of Christ and the “black sun” in it, he has Lyssakowitsch locked up and replaces him as leader of the Golden Dawn (episode 27). To open the Christ building he needs Faith's blood, which is why he kidnaps her after episode 22.

Warren attempts to clone Faith in order to reinforce the armies of the Golden Dawn with Faith clones. But the first attempt fails and he buries the supposedly dead clone (see Angel Dark ). He also changes the DNA of Cathleen Nova in order to take revenge on her, and subsequently also of Alenka Milio, which gives them new identities (see Cathlen Nova and Alenka Milio ).

He is supposedly killed in episode 30 by Lyssakowitsch. But the clone scientist had cloned himself and brought himself to safety beforehand, so that he appears purified in episode 51 at Angel Reilly and David Russell.

Dragan Semyon Lysakovich

Lyssakowitsch is the "cloned" son of Adolf Hitler (see Doctor Warren ). He was born to Eva Hitler after her death and taken to the Soviet Union by the Russian major Andro Lyssakowitsch. There he grew up as Dragan Semjon Lyssakowitsch. Like his father, he suffers from the hereditary disease polyphenism and accordingly ages much more slowly than other people.

In East Berlin, the strong, black-haired man met Warren and took a liking to his plans to cleanse humanity from all supernatural influences. The two founded the "Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn" ("Golden Dawn" for short), whose leader was Lyssakowitsch.

In episode 27, he is finally betrayed by Warren and replaced as leader. Warren kept him under control all these years with injections that also suppressed polyphenism. After the betrayal and without further injections, he begins to mutate. He transforms into a metallic sting creature and can finally take revenge on Warren and kill him. Shortly afterwards he dies from the consequences of the mutation.

Ben Chaney

The "real" Faith meets Ben Chaney in episode 20 in high school, where he as a prefect asks her about her pregnancy and advises her. Interested, she invites him to a bar with her friends for an evening and soon Ben becomes an initiate and ally. Shortly afterwards, the first double, later called Melissa Shadow, takes on the role of Faith and maintains contact with Ben. By chance the group learns that Ben is the “white lycant” - when the moon is full he transforms into a white werewolf who has tremendous power. He is the last remaining "white wolf". In addition, he can transform himself outside of the full moon nights and in the transformed state both think clearly and speak humanely.

So although Ben is not human, later Melissa Shadow falls in love with him and in episode 23 the two become a couple. At this point, Ben is still on Dracula's side, as he has promised him an antidote to "being a werewolf". Faith and the others don't know anything about it at first. But after Dracula faked his death and Shania's death without telling him, Ben and Adam stand up against him. After both Golden Dawn and Dracula are defeated, Melissa Shadow and Ben ride his motorcycle to London.

Alenka Milio

Milio is a born werewolf who has lived carefree for a long time with her two brothers Arpad and Zlatko and her father Karel in the forest of Shell Ville. But despite the instructions from their father, Alenka and her brothers go on the hunt for people during the "moon phase" and are discovered by Faith and the others (episode 20). Faith therefore goes on a search for the wolves with her allies in order to render them harmless. You get help from Dracula's companion unnoticed. Alenka's brothers and her father are killed in battle.

Alenka is also considered dead, but Doctor Jack Warren, who wanted to carry out experiments on the corpses of the Milios, notices that Alenka is still alive. He puts her in an artificial coma and thus saves her life (episode 30). Finally, he turned her into a copy of Cathlen Nova in his lab so she could take her place at Faith's side. It preserves its looks and memories. The exchange with Cat can be recognized by the change of voice. She uses parts of her werewolf powers instead of the real Cat's mutant powers.

In addition, Warren plants a chip in her brain with which he can control Alenka aka Cat.

Cathlen "Cat" Nova

Cathlen is a blonde model who leads a very successful and fairly normal life in France. But her world is shaken when Doctor Jack Warren tells her that the American Faith van Helsing killed her helpless mother just because she was different (episode 22). Cathlen immediately travels to tackle the cowardly murderess of her mutant mother Irinia Bogdanova - not realizing that she has fallen into a lie. Cathlen is also a mutant who counts increased agility, speed and strength, but also pointy and razor-sharp claws that she can create on her fingers, among her skills. She calls herself in a mutated form "Cat", but later this name became a common nickname.

After the fight with Faith, Cathlen confronts Warren and humiliates him. Warren overpowers her and turns her into a clone of Faith in revenge. She not only preserves her appearance, but also all of her memories and feelings. In the next episode (episode 23), Warren exchanges Faith for the converted Cathlen, which can be seen from the change in voice. She approaches Ben Chaney and after learning that he is the white lycant, a relationship with him eventually begins.

After Warren's double game is revealed, Cathlen creates a new identity as Melissa Shadow. This name seems appropriate to her because Warren's genetic experiments allow her to transform into a shadowy figure who is able to move effortlessly through walls. She officially becomes Faith's sister and goes to London with Ben Chaney.

The Devil (Lucien le Fouet)

The devil appears in the form of Lucien le Fouet for the first time in Rennes-le-Château (episode 23). Shortly before he can take Faith's soul, he lets go of her because she is not the one he desires. He asks Faith if she can feel her heart and tells her to say hello to her sister. With this he gives Faith the first clues about the exchange by Doctor Warren. He also appears in the following episodes and gathers more and more demons around him. He repeatedly gives hints on the exchange of the "real" Faith with the first double (see Melissa Shadow ).

He is described as a handsome and dashing man in a business suit. However, his hands are covered with thick, brown fur and have long, pointed claws. Lucien le Fouet also fell victim to the Black Sun and was in a coma in a clinic in Carcassonne for three years. Through the reversal of circumstances through the Order of the Kraken, le Fouet also comes to life. At first he wants to get revenge on Faith, but when he learns of the resurrection of Lilith, he also supports Raven.

Melissa Shadow

After Cathlen Nova was made into a doppelganger of Faith van Helsing by Doctor Jack Warren and Warren was defeated, Cathlen creates a new identity as Melissa Shadow (see also Cathlen Nova ). Her appearance and her memories correspond exactly to those of the "real" Faith. However, the amulets around their necks are counterfeit, so that they do not have their powers and cannot transform themselves into the blue angel figure. Instead, due to a genetic engineering error, it can transform itself into a shadowy figure that can go through walls and surprise opponents when attacking. Further differences to Faith are the fact that she has a heart (see Faith van Helsing ), her very good knowledge of French (since Cathlen comes from France) and the other voice, which she and the others initially develop through the gas of the Monster's Jack-O-Lantern explains that Faith's vocal cords are said to have been damaged.

In episode 23 she begins a relationship with Ben Chaney as Faith van Helsing, which she continues as Melissa Shadow. The two start a new life in London. In a case in France, the true origins of Melissa Shadow come to light. According to research reports, she is not a clone, but Faith's kidnapped child, who was quickly aged by Warren with scientific aids. This process is slowly starting to wear off in episode 50. Melissa gets dropouts, seizures similar to epilepsy and her hair turns blonde.

Angel Dark

She is Faith's second doppelganger, who first appears in episode 26. Warren cloned her from Faith's DNA at the time. His plan was to breed many Faith clones to strengthen the armies of the Golden Dawn. Since this first clone was even more unruly than "the original", he had her stunned and buried (episode 30). Contrary to his expectations, however, the clone is not dead and she can break free. She visits her family and initially lives her life as "Faith".

After the "real" Faith reappears and Doctor Jack Warren is defeated, she calls herself Angel Dark to become a person in her own right. She goes to New York to start her own life there.

Her looks and memories are identical to those of the “real” Faith. However, there are differences in the fake amulets that Angel wears around her neck, which means that she does not have their powers or the blue angel figure. In addition, unlike the "real" Faith, she has a heart. Angel is characterized by the coarser and harder expression, although her voice does not differ from the original Faith.

Melissa van Helsing (Faith's mother)

Melissa was Faith's birth mother and Christopher's wife. She was an angel who became human in order to be able to start a family with Christopher. Shortly after Faith was born, she was killed by the rigged Hunter. Faith and Christopher were not at home at the time and were thus spared. Christopher often tells Faith that she looks just like her mother.

Melissa van Helsing (Faith 'Baby)

In episode 10, the enchanted Faith conceives a child with the prophet of the beast 666, Alex Christ, that she gives birth in episode 21 after she had an argument with Shania and accidentally injured Faith. Doctor Jack Warren pays the attending physician to give him the baby and to tell Faith and the others that the baby has died. Although Alex Christ was an evil demon, Faith is deeply affected when she receives the news. She had planned to name her baby after her mother, Melissa. Shania is heartbroken too, since she now thinks she killed her best friend's child. In episode 23, the first Faith Double dreams of the birth of the baby. It's called Melissa there. So far it has not been clarified what happened to the baby.

Daniel Drake

He is introduced as an exchange student in episode 32. He falls in love with Faith at a school ball and the two start flirting. When they are about to spend their first night, Faith is kidnapped by the Order and Drake is left wounded. Later the liaison deepens. Raven becomes suspicious when he is held captive with Drake and Mandrake underwater in the Dartmoor Blood Lake. He sees what Drake really is, namely not a person. In the emotional chaos of Faith he seems to lose his Faith to Raven, but then his true character comes out. He is the son of Dracula and turns Faith with the blood kiss. Daniel Drake was engaged in his past to Rebecca, who developed leukemia and was cured by Drake's blood transfusion. When the two wanted to get married, Dracula burst in between and turned Rebecca into a vampire. A short time later, when Drake caught his father red-handed with his fiancee, he left her. He stayed alone for a long time before he met Faith. Daniel Drake is considered to be very quick-tempered and quickly becomes jealous.

Nekron

Nekron is an ancient demon who was once banned by mandrake in a magisser's ring and hidden in the Saalfeld fairy grottoes. First a friend of Inspector Gräfe, Alexander Wolf reveals the secret. When Faith and her friends showed up in Germany with mandrake, Wolf stunned the surprised mandrake and performed the ritual to transform himself into Nekron. Faith can initially win in a church, but later he upsets the world with the murder of the Pope and attacks on the Acropolis, the Pantheon or the Red Square in Moscow. Nekron is a brother of Cthulhu and his goal is to free him, one of the Ancient Ones. His plan succeeds through the power of Lucifer's amulets, the tears of power. When they meet Christopher, Brandolf and Nathan on Mount Olympus, Brandolf is seriously wounded in battle. Nekron's troops also manage to attack Julian Sparks' helicopter, which is transporting the injured Brandolf. The fate of Sparks and Brandolf is currently unknown.

background

history

In 2002, Simeon Hrissomallis developed the idea for the Faith van Helsing radio play series , which was originally supposed to be about a male protagonist. However, the plans for the movie Van Helsing and the television series Buffy - The Vampire Slayer inspired him to make a female descendant of Abraham van Helsing the main character.

The series is produced by the Russel & Brandon Company, the joint company of Hrissomallis and Wolfgang Strauss, who have been friends since childhood. Hrissomallis writes the scripts while Strauss is responsible for the music and technical implementation.

The voice recordings for the first episodes took place for two weeks at the beginning of January 2005 in Berlin. The first six episodes finally appeared on November 14, 2005.

From season 2 the name of the series was changed from Faith - The van Helsing Chronicles to Faith van Helsing . It was hoped that the more concise title and the traditional name of Van Helsing would arouse the interest of new listeners.

After the release of the 8th episode of the 2nd season on May 15, 2009, no further episodes were initially produced. The next episode wasn't released until November 12, 2010 and was the first episode with Anna Carlsson in the lead role of Faith. Carlsson had already spoken the Cathlen Nova in the previous episode, whose role was in turn taken on by Karen Schulz-Vobach in the following episodes .

On April 2, 2011, Simeon Hrissomallis announced that with the end of the second season in production, the series would not be divided into further seasons.

Cover

Timo Wuerz designed the cover of the series . The covers of episodes 23 to 32 create a coherent picture when placed next to one another.
