Cultivation

Approved vineyards are spread over the communities of Sessa Aurunca , Cellole , Mondragone , Falciano del Massico and Carinola around the eponymous 812 meter high Monte Massico. This area in the north-west of Campania is about 40 km north-west of Naples and was already known in ancient times for the famous Falerner .

  • at least 85% of the Falerno del Massico Bianco must be made from the Falanghina grape variety . A maximum of 15% of other grape varieties approved for cultivation in the Campania region may be added.
