Aversa (wine)
Under the name Aversa DOC are Italian dry white wines and sparkling wines ( Spumante ) in the Campania region made. Since 1993 the wines have had the status of a "controlled designation of origin " ( Denominazione di origine controllata - DOC), which was last updated on March 7, 2014.
Cultivation
The approved zone includes:
- in the province of Caserta the municipalities of Aversa , Carinaro , Casal di Principe , Casaluce , Casapesenna , Cesa , Frignano , Gricignano di Aversa , Lusciano , Orta di Atella , Parete , San Cipriano d'Aversa , San Marcellino , Sant'Arpino , Succivo , Teverola , Trentola-Ducenta , Villa di Briano and Villa Literno
- in the metropolitan city of Naples the municipalities of Giugliano , Qualiano and Sant'Antimo .
generation
The following types of wine are produced:
- the dry white wines (“Aversa Asprinio”) must consist of at least 85% Asprinio Bianco grapes . A maximum of 15% other white, non-aromatic grape varieties approved for cultivation in the province of Caserta or in the metropolitan city of Naples may be added.
- the dry sparkling wines ("Aversa Asprinio Spumante") must consist of 100% Asprinio Bianco.

- Smell: intense, fruity, characteristic
- Taste: dry, fresh, characteristic
- Alcohol content: at least 10.5 % by volume
- Acidity : at least 6.0 g / l
- Dry extract: at least 15.0 g / l
Aversa Asprinio Spumante
- Perlage: fine and persistent
- Color: more or less intense straw yellow
- Smell: fine, fragrant, characteristic
- Taste: dry, fresh, characteristic
- Alcohol content: at least 11.0 % by volume
- Acid content : at least 7.0 g / l
- Dry extract: at least 15.0 g / l
