Giugliano in Campania (or Giugliano for short ) is an Italian city in the metropolitan city of Naples with 125,058 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019). It belongs to the agglomeration of Naples .

The neighboring municipalities are Aversa ( CE ), Casapesenna (CE), Castel Volturno (CE), Lusciano (CE), Melito di Napoli , Mugnano di Napoli , Parete (CE), Pozzuoli , Qualiano , Quarto , San Cipriano d'Aversa (CE ), Sant'Antimo , Trentola-Ducenta (CE), Villa Literno (CE) and Villaricca .

Population development

Giugliano counted 40,891 private households in 2015 . Between 1991 and 2001 the population increased from 60,096 to 97,999. This corresponds to a percentage increase of 63.1% in just ten years. By 2015 there was a further increase to 122,974 inhabitants, making Giugliano the most populous municipality within the metropolitan city of Naples after its capital, Naples itself.
