Casamicciola Terme is an Italian municipality with 8053 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) on the island of Ischia in the Gulf of Naples . The place has a port with connections to Naples and Pozzuoli .

The origin of the name of the municipality is not clearly established. Some derive the toponym Casamicciola from Casa Nìsola after a woman named Nisola , others from Casamice , which means place of mushrooms , still others from Casa in Insula , which means house on the island . In 1956 Terme was added because of the importance of thermal water for the place .
