Caivano is a city with 37,454 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) and is located in the metropolitan city of Naples . The village is about 13.5 km from Naples . A nationally known rock festival takes place almost every year , with nationally and internationally known performers on the stage.

The Italian statistical agency ISTAT recorded a population growth of 3.1% between 1991 and 2001. The population rose from 35,855 (1991) to 36,966 (2001). Caivano has recorded a steady increase in population since the population census began. Like many suburbs to the north of Naples, the city was a center of textile production . Since many factories were closed in the 1990s, Caivano has been hit hard by unemployment and social problems, with the Parco Verde district in particular notorious as a stronghold of the drug trade and the Camorra .
