Sannio (wine)
White , rosé and red wines as well as sparkling wines are produced under the name Sannio DOC in the Italian province of Benevento , region of Campania . In 1997 they were given the status of a "controlled designation of origin " (" Denominazione di origine controllata " - DOC), which was last updated on March 7, 2014.
Cultivation

The following types of wine are produced:
- Sannio Bianco , also as a Frizzante : must consist of at least 50% Trebbiano Toscano and / or Malvasia Bianca di Candia (individually or together).
- Sannio Rosso , also called Frizzante, "Superiore", "Riserva" and Novello : must be made from at least 50% of the Sangiovese grape variety .
- Sannio Rosato , also called Frizzante : must be made from at least 50% Sangiovese grapes .
- Sannio Spumante (also with the " Metodo classico "): must consist of at least 70% Aglianico and / or Falanghina (individually or together).
- Wines with the designation Sannio ... (naming a grape variety) must contain at least 85% of the named grape variety. ( Coda di Volpe , Fiano , Greco Bianco , Moscato , Aglianico , Barbera , Piedirosso , Sciascinoso )
All wines can also be named with a sub-zone ( sottozona ). The sub-zones are: "Guardia Sanframondi" or "Guardiolo", "Sant'Agata dei Goti", "Solopaca" or "Taburno". The lists of wine types in the sub-zones differ in part from those of the overall zone and those of the other sub-zones.
