Falko von Falkenhayn (born February 19, 1940 in Berlin ) is a German manager and university lecturer.

Life

He was born as the son of the real estate agent Richard von Falkenhayn and his wife Maria, geb. Roos was born in Berlin and grew up there too. He passed his Abitur at the Gottfried-Keller-Oberschule in Berlin-Charlottenburg . Apart from a semester at the Free University of Berlin , he studied at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich and in Mainz . He received his degree in economics in Munich in 1966 and received his doctorate in philosophy in Mainz in 1969. He was a member of the ASTA of the University of Munich (1962) and representative of the student body in the Senate of the University of Munich (1963). Even as a schoolboy he was interested in existentialism, which is why he paid special attention to Kierkegaard , Sartre , Jaspers and Heidegger . During the course the focus was on Hegel , ethics and social philosophy. After receiving his doctorate, he initially worked as an assistant to the German Bundestag for the Mainz Bundestag member Josef Hofmann. Falko von Falkenhayn has been married to a pharmacist since 1969 and has three children and several grandchildren.

His professional focus was on marketing and sales . He started as a project manager at 4P-Verpackungen ( Unilever ), then became marketing manager at Champignon in Heising / Allgäu and later at Braun AG in Kronberg im Taunus . He then moved to Robert Bosch GmbH in Stuttgart, where he began in 1977 as marketing director in the automotive spare parts division (After Sales Business) and later became department director (1980) for central sales issues for Bosch products . Further professional positions were department head for central marketing at BMW AG in Munich (1984), board member at Lufthansa in Frankfurt am Main and Cologne (July 1989) and board member at Deutsche Klassenlotterie in Berlin and also a member of the Deutsche Klassenlotterie Berlin foundation ( 1993).

In addition, he was a member and chairman of the supervisory board of various companies: Supervisory board of Centro , ALVG Anlagenvermietung GmbH, Lufthansa Commercial Holding (LCH) (deputy chairman), Start Datentechnik , Lufthansa CityLine , chairman of the supervisory board of Lufthansa Design Center GmbH and at AirPlus . Falko von Falkenhayn also has experience as a management consultant in Poland, Hungary, Romania and Russia.

Falko von Falkenhayn also worked as a lecturer and took on several voluntary activities. During his doctoral studies he was already in charge of managing a research assistant position. Afterwards he also taught at the Studium generale at the University of Mainz . Later he was a lecturer at the adult education center in Kempten / Allgäu. From the 1990s he lectured at the German College of Journalists at the Free University of Berlin and from 2007 at the Institute of Technology at the Technical University of Wildau (FH) . In 2010 he became an honorary professor at the TH Wildau, where he is currently still teaching. In 2013 he was honored with the highest award of the Diakonie Berlin-Brandenburg-Schlesische-Oberlausitz, the Johann-Hinrich-Wichern plaque , in recognition of his voluntary work.

  • 2007–2011: Member of the advisory board "European Circle of Friends of the Julius Stern Institute of the University of the Arts Berlin eV"
  • 2007–2012: Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the “charity foundation”
  • 2007–2015: President SC 74 in Munich (Seniors Committee of the state lottery companies in Germany)
  • 2008–2016: President of the “Casino-Gesellschaft-Berlin von 1786”, which is committed to the spirit of enlightenment and tolerance.
  • 2010–2014: Member of the advisory board of the "Ruck Foundation"
  • Falko von Falkenhayn has been teaching at WIT (Wildau Institute of Technology) since 2007 and was appointed honorary professor at the Technical University of Wildau (FH) in 2010.
  • Since 2011 chairman of the European Circle of Friends of the Julius Stern Institute at the Berlin University of the Arts
  • Since 2018 member of the "Business Angels Club Berlin-Brandenburg" with the primary goal of promoting start-ups from the region.
