Faster 650 CAT is the name of a multi-purpose boat that is used by aid organizations and authorities .

General

Faster boats have been built by Juha Snell in Kellokoski , Finland , since 1978 . They are made of aluminum and are therefore particularly light, robust and low-maintenance. The manufacturer's range of products includes versatile work boats and open sports boats. In Germany, the work boats are sold by Nordland Hansa GmbH in Rostock .

The Faster 650 CAT is a catamaran powered by two outboard motors. This configuration combines good maneuverability with great stability and high safety. The boats are approved in accordance with CE seaworthiness classification for coastal waters and in Germany comply with DIN 14961. Another feature is the 1.3 m wide bow ramp . It enables the effortless recovery of people and objects, the transport of bulky objects and facilitates the use of divers . The payload of the operational boats, including the crew, is 1500 kg. With its dimensions and its own weight, this boat class can be quickly brought to a place of use in a trailer and slipped .

technical aid organization

The Faster 650 CAT is the new multi-purpose workboat (MzAB) of the technical relief organization. It belongs to the water hazards specialist group and replaces older multi-purpose boats. Towing and coupling devices enable the connection with other watercraft.

Emergency command

The emergency command has procured nine boats of this type for the coastal pollution control. They are equipped with a SeaHow mini-excavator , which allows oil fighting from a water depth of 0.35 m.

German Life Saving Society

Both the Faster 650 CAT and the smaller Faster boats are used by the local groups and associations of the German Life Rescue Society.

fire Department

Several fire departments are equipped with the Faster 650 CAT and the smaller versions. The boats are significantly faster than conventional fire boats and can carry a portable pump on their loading area .
