Fatih Arda İpcioğlu (born September 28, 1997 ) is a Turkish ski jumper .
Career
İpcioğlu started on July 14th and 15th, 2012 as part of two competitions of the FIS Cup in Villach for the first time on an international level. On March 15, 2014 he made his debut in Nizhny Tagil in the Continental Cup , where he missed the points with 47th place. At the Nordic Junior World Ski Championships in 2016 in Râșnov , Romania , he finished 59th in the individual.
In the 2016/17 season , İpcioğlu was the first Turk in the history of sports to score points in the Ski Jumping Continental Cup on the local ski jump Kiremitliktepe in Erzurum . On February 4th and 5th, he finished twelfth. He also qualified for the 2018 Winter Olympics . After his success in the COC he took part in the qualifications for the World Cup competitions in Lahti and Lillehammer . However, he could not qualify for a competition.
İpcioğlu made his debut in Hakuba in the Summer Grand Prix on August 26 and 27, 2017 . In the first competition he finished 46th and the next day he was disqualified. In December 2017 he started as the first Turk in the Four Hills Tournament 2017/18 , but retired in Oberstdorf and Garmisch-Partenkirchen in each qualification.
In February 2018 he was the first Turkish ski jumper to take part in the 2018 Winter Olympics, but was the 57th and last to be eliminated from the normal hill in the qualification for the competition . The following day he was the flag bearer of the Turkish Olympic team at the opening ceremony of the Winter Games. In the individual competition on the large hill , he also failed in qualification as 56th.
