The individual competition in Lillehammer should take place on March 14, 2017. However, after the trial round had already been canceled due to strong winds and the competition had been postponed by 30 minutes, the first round was also canceled after 26 jumpers. One day after the cancellation, another ski flying competition was announced on March 17th in Vikersund as a replacement, which was to consist of only one competition round.
Trondheim
Granåsen , HS140
prolog
The prologue to the individual competition in Trondheim took place on March 15, 2017. Due to difficult wind conditions, only one of two planned training rounds had previously been carried out, and there were repeated long delays during qualification. This included a break of around 30 minutes before the start of Gregor Schlierenzauer, who then decided not to start and was therefore unable to qualify. Even the already pre-qualified jumpers Michael Hayböck, Manuel Fettner and Domen Prevc did not start. The leader of the Raw Air overall ranking up to then, Stefan Kraft, had extremely unfavorable wind conditions during his jump, whereby he only reached 120.0 meters and 111.5 points and lost his lead in the Raw Air overall ranking to Andreas Wellinger, who finished third with 138.0 meters and 139.5 points behind Kamil Stoch and Andreas Stjernen.
