Casey Larson (born December 16, 1998 ) is an American ski jumper . He starts for the Norge Ski Club

Career

Casey Larson began his international career in December 2012 in two competitions in the FIS Cup in Brattleboro , Vermont , which he finished with 30th and 29th. In the following three years he only started in a few other FIS Cup competitions. In February 2016 he took part in the Winter Youth Olympic Games in Lillehammer . He finished sixth in the individual and tenth in the mixed team competition. In the same month he started at the Nordic Junior World Ski Championships in Râşnov . He was 38th in the individual and with the US team both in the mixed team and in the team competition twelfth and thus last.

On July 1 and 2, 2016, Larson made his debut in Kranj in the Continental Cup , where he finished 36th twice. Since then he has competed regularly in the Continental Cup, scoring his first COC points in Kuopio on August 21, 2016 . On January 20 and 21, 2017, Larson started in Zakopane for the first time in the World Cup and reached tenth place with the US team; for the individual competition he could not qualify with 47th place in the qualification. At the Nordic Junior World Ski Championships 2017 in Park City , Utah , Larson achieved eighth place in the individual competition on the normal hill. In the team competition he took eleventh place together with Decker Dean, Patrick Gasienica and Trevor Edlund and in the mixed team competition together with Anna Hoffmann, Trevor Edlund and Samantha Macuga the twelfth and last place. After the Junior World Championships, he took part in the Nordic World Ski Championships for the first time in Lahti . He failed in the individual qualification on the normal hill. He survived this on the large hill and took 46th place. With the US team he was eleventh. In March 2017, Larson took part in the first-ever Raw Air 2017 tour. In the end he reached 55th place overall.

In the summer of 2017, Larson started in the Summer Grand Prix for the first time . But he missed the points both in the individual competitions, for which he qualified, and in the team competition. On January 20, 2018, he achieved his best results to date in the COC at two Continental Cup competitions in Erzurum with places 20 and 17. At the Nordic Junior World Ski Championships 2018 in Kandersteg , he finished twelfth in both the individual and the team twelfth place in the team competition and tenth place in the mixed team competition. In February 2018, he took part in the Winter Olympics for the first time in Pyeongchang , where he competed in all three competitions. In the individual competition on the normal hill , he finished 39th. In qualifying for this competition, he started as a newcomer to the Olympics with starting number 16, making it 100,000. male participant in the modern Olympic Games . In the individual competition on the large hill , he missed the competition as 53rd in the qualification. With the US team he was ninth on the large hill .

At the 2019 World Championships in Seefeld in Tyrol , he finished 38th on the large hill and 28th on the normal hill and was 11th with the US men's team consisting of Patrick Gasienica , Andrew Urlaub , Kevin Bickner and him and 11th with the mixed Team consisting of Nina Lussi , Kevin Bickner, Nita Englund and him tenth.

Larson lives in Barrington , Illinois with his parents and sister Cara, who is also a member of the national ski jumping team .
