Kiremitliktepe , also TürkTelekom Ski Jumping Towers , is the name of the ski jumping hills that exist within the urban area of Erzurum . The facility includes two smaller hills of categories K 20 and K 40, a medium hill of category K 65, a normal hill of category K 95 and a large hill of category K 125. All jumps are covered with plastic mattings. This ski jumping facility is the only one in Turkey.
history
A ski jumping center was built for the Winter Universiade 2011 with the jumps K 20, K 40, K 65, K 95 and K 125. The cost of the new hills amounted to around 20 million euros. The five ski jumps were completed in September 2010. With the Ski Jumping Continental Cup Jumping on December 18 and 19, 2010, official FIS ski jumping competitions were held in Turkey for the first time.
On July 15, 2014, large parts of the landing slopes and the adjacent spectator stands were badly damaged in a landslide. First investigations showed that massive construction errors may have contributed to the accident. In December 2014 it was announced that the ski jumping facility would be rebuilt.
