Federico Sansonetti (born November 6, 1986 in Montevideo ) is a Uruguayan tennis player .

Career

The sansonetti, called sansonetti, began playing tennis at the age of eight. He has been a member of the Uruguayan Davis Cup team since 2004 . In February of that year, after Marcel Felder's and Marcelo Filippini's refusals, he was nominated by coach José Luis Damiani for the meeting with the Haitian team, as was the 17-year-old Pablo Cuevas and Diego Ksiazenicki .

In August 2005 he and his doubles partner Damian Listingart failed only in the semifinals of the Future Nº 7 tournament in Argentina on doubles Máximo González / Diego Cristín .

He participated with the Uruguayan team in the 2007 Pan American Games . Shortly afterwards, the round of the last four double teams together with Alejandro Fabbri was the final destination at the Argentina F13 tournament. Even at the ITF tournament in Peru in August 2008, he suffered a semi-final defeat in singles against Guido Pella . A few weeks later he was defeated in October at the side of Joaquín-Jesús Monteferrario in the semi-finals of the doubles competition of the Argentina F17 tournament.

In early March 2008 he reached the final of the Torneo Crepuscular of the Mendoza Tenis Club in Mendoza , where he was defeated by the tournament winner Jonatan Gonzalía in two sets. In April 2008 the ITF tournament in Turkey ended for him with a semi-final defeat against the Belgian Yannick Mertens . At the end of July 2008 he failed with his Paraguayan doubles partner Gustavo Ramírez only in the semifinals of the Paraguay Futures 3 . In October 2008 he and the Argentinean Juan-Pablo Yunis won the double competition of the Chile F1 Futures in Antofagasta . In the individual competition of the tournament he reached the final, but lost there against the Chilean Jorge Aguilar in two sets. In the same month he again reached the singles final of the Chile F2 Futures in Santiago , but failed again due to a two-set defeat by Jorge Aguilar. In November 2008 he reached the semifinals at the Uruguay F1 tournament in Montevideo with doubles partner Martín Cuevas .

In February 2009 he advanced to the semi-finals in the doubles competition at the side of the Chilean Rodrigo Pérez in the Colombia F2 tournament. In October of that year he also reached the round of four at the Argentina F17 tournament with Pablo Galdón . In the individual competition, the tournament was also over in the semi-finals for him after a two-set defeat against Agustín Picco . With a 6-1 and 6-2 win over José Saralegui , Sansonetti won the Uruguayan singles tennis championship played in the Carrasco Lawn Tenis in December 2009 . Also in the following year he was Uruguayan champion.

At the Pan American Games in 2011 he was again in the Uruguayan squad. He finished there in 45th place. In doubles, he competed alongside Martín Cuevas and finished fifth. He played his last tournament so far in November 2011.

His double partners in the course of his career also included Pablo Cuevas , Martín Alund , Guillermo Bujniewicz , Abraham González-Jiménez and Martin Emmrich .
