Felix Strasser (born May 13, 1976 in Ravensburg ; † October 5, 2017 in Konstanz ) was a German director , author and theater teacher .

Life

Education

Felix Strasser first studied economics at the University of Essen and then at the Weingarten University of Education . He was a teacher at the Herzog-Philiipp-Verbandschule Altshausen before studying theater pedagogy at the Berlin University of the Arts in 2003 . Kristin Wardetzky , Horst Hawemann and Wolfgang Wermelskirch, among others, were formative for his later work in the theater .

At the Berlin University of the Arts , Strasser was an artistic and educational assistant at the Institute for Theater Education in 2005. He worked at the Volksbühne am Rosa-Luxemburg-Platz and the Hebbel am Ufer - HAU. From 2006 he directed at the Konstanz Theater and in 2007 became director of the young theater in Konstanz . From 2010 to 2014 Strasser worked as a freelance director and theater educator. To this end, he founded Die Spielmacher , which calls itself Germany's first mobile theater education center. During this time Strasser worked as a lecturer at various international colleges and universities in the field of theater education . Since March 2014 Strasser has been teaching and working permanently at the University of Konstanz - HTWG  - in the field of theater education and was director of the Theater University of Konstanz . He died in 2017 at his workplace at the HTWG. Emergency doctors determined a natural death.

Strasser was considered an expert in narrative theater in German-language children's and youth theater. Under the direction of Christoph Nix at the Konstanz Theater, Strasser worked as director of the children's and youth theater with artists such as Wulf Twiehaus , Stephan Testi, The Tiger Lillies and Michael Helming .

Strasser has been doing a lot of voluntary work since 2014. Together with Regine Weißinger and Fridolin Weiner he directed the Children's Academy in the Council City of Konstanz . With children in the 3rd and 4th grades, this group seeks their own access to Konstanz and its council for two semesters per year . It takes place twice a year as part of the 600th anniversary of the Council in 2014–2018.
