Fernando Bascopé Müller

Fernando Bascopé Müller SDB (born April 4, 1962 in Santa Cruz de la Sierra , Bolivia ) is a Bolivian religious and Roman Catholic military bishop of Bolivia .

Life

In 1981, Müller entered the novitiate of Don Bosco's Salesians in Rionegro , Colombia , and made his first temporary vows on January 23, 1982 and his perpetual vows on August 22, 1987 . After studying Catholic theology in Cremisan , he was ordained a priest on September 23, 1991 in Santa Cruz de la Sierra .

In the Province of the Order he worked as rector of the pre-novitiate from 1995 to 1998 and as rector of the post-novitiate from 2000 to 2005, finally as novice master from 2009 . He also worked in the management of the Bolivian Don Bosco Bulletin, was a provincial delegate for youth and vocations pastoral care as well as for the Don Bosco family and Don Bosco's volunteer work . Most recently he was also active for the Bolivian Bishops' Conference .

On July 15, 2010 Pope Benedict XVI appointed him . the auxiliary bishop in El Alto and titular bishop of Naratcata . He received 9 September 2010 by the Bishop of El Alto, Jesús Juárez Párraga SDB, the episcopal ordination . Co- consecrators were the Archbishop of La Paz , Edmundo Luis Flavio Abastoflor Montero , and the Bishop of Bergamo , Francesco Beschi .

Pope Francis appointed him military bishop of Bolivia on September 24, 2014 . The inauguration took place on January 17th of the following year.
