Fernando J. Cortés Rodríguez (born October 4, 1909 in San Juan , † 1979 in Mexico City ) was a Puerto Rican actor, screenwriter and director.

Cortés made his actor debut in the silent film Flor de España , filmed in Spain in 1921 by Helena Cortesina and José María Granada . In 1932 he married the Puerto Rican actress María del Pilar , who became known as Mapy Cortés . They performed together in Zarzuelas and worked for cinema in Spain until they went to Mexico in 1940.
