The Sulzbach ( Main in the Miltenberg district in the Bavarian Spessart . It arises from the confluence of the Leidersbach and Sodener Bach rivers .

The name Sulzbach is derived from the defining word sulzi , which means salt water or mud , morass , and the basic word bach . The brook gave the municipality of Sulzbach am Main its name.

Spring streams
Leidersbach
The Leidersbach rises in the district of Volkersbrunn . It runs in a north-westerly direction through Leidersbach . At around 8.4 km, it is the longer and more water-rich source stream.
Soden stream
The source of the 6.2 km long Sodener Bach , the Kaltenbrunnen , is located southeast of Soden . The brook flows through the village and joins the Leidersbach east of Sulzbach am Main in the Feuchtwiesen nature reserve in Sulzbachtal .
Wachenbach
The source of the 3.9 km long Wachenbach , the Hahle-Brunnen , is located northwest of Soden on the border with the Schweinheim district of the city of Aschaffenburg. The stream takes in the Fichtenbach coming from the north , flows around the Sulzberg north and flows east of Sulzbach am Main , about 75 m before the confluence, into the Sodener Bach.

After the confluence of the source streams, the Sulzbach runs in two arms through the municipality of the same name. There it crosses under the State Road 2309 and flows into the Main .
On some maps, the Soden Bach is named Sulzbach. Others refer to the entire stream as the Leidersbach.
Feuchtwiesen nature reserve in Sulzbachtal
The approximately 25 hectare large nature reserve has been designated the 1984th It is located on the meandering streams of the Soden Bach, the Sulzbach and the Leidersbach, east of Sulzbach am Main .
There are large reed zones , large sedges and wet and damp meadows in a wide flood plain. The protection goal is the preservation of rare biotope types as a habitat for the typical animal and plant species.
