fusion
On February 24, 2008, a referendum decided to merge Filet with the much smaller neighboring community in terms of area. In Filet, 73 percent of the votes were in favor, while in Mörel it was 93 percent in favor. One reason for the clearer approval in Mörel is that its residents will benefit from the merger, as the net debt in Mörel was around 10,000 francs per capita and was practically halved with the merger. For Filet, on the other hand, the per capita debt rose from around 2,600 francs to around 5,700 francs in the merged community.
