The Finlandia is a ferry of Eckerö Line and drives under the Finnish flag .

history

The ferry was established in 2001 under the hull number 7506 on the shipyard built Daewoo Shipbuilding & Heavy Machinery. She is one of four sister ships . The keel was laid on April 21, 2000, the launch on December 23, 2000. The ferry was delivered in June 2001 and was launched as Moby Freedom for the Italian shipping company Moby Lines .

In 2012 the ferry was sold. On the Öresundsvarvet in Landskrona , it was converted for use by Eckerö Line. It has been operating between Tallinn and Helsinki since the end of 2012 . It replaced the Nordlandia there .

The ferry is approved for 2080 passengers. She has 200 cabins. There is space on board for 665 cars. The ferry is loaded and unloaded via ramps at the bow and stern. The bow ramp is located behind a bow visor that opens to the side .

The ship is powered by four four-stroke - twelve-cylinder - diesel engines of the manufacturer Wärtsilä driven together 50,400 kW. The motors act on two controllable pitch propellers . Two shaft generators with 1200 kW power (1500 kVA apparent power ) and four diesel generators with 1408 kW power (1760 kVA apparent power) are available for power generation.
