The Almariya is a ferry that was commissioned in 1981 as Olau Hollandia by the then German shipping company Olau Line .
history
Olau Hollandia (1981-1989)
The Olau Hollandia was built in 1981 under the construction number 1028 by the German AG Weser Seebeckwerft in Bremerhaven and delivered to the Olau Line in Hamburg on March 21, 1981 . It sailed under the flag of Germany with its home port in Hamburg and was used between Sheerness and Vlissingen from March 25, 1981 .
North Gotlandia (1989–1998)
In August 1989 the ship was sold to Das Schiff an Nordström & Thulin in order to be used by the Gotlandslinjen subsidiary . From June 1989 the ship was rebuilt at Schichau Seebeck in Bremerhaven and brought into service in November 1989 in Northern Gotlandia under the flag of Sweden , the home port became Visby . From January 1990 the North Gotlandia was used between Visby and Nynäshamn , or Oskarshamn .
In July 1997, a fire broke out in the engine room.
On December 31, 1997, the ship sailed for Gotlandslinjen for the last time.
Nordlandia (1998-2013)
The ship was sold in December 1997 and was handed over to Eckerö Line in January 1998 . Subsequently, the ship was rebuilt in Turku and handed over to the new owner on January 2, 1998, before it was renamed Nordlandia on January 7, 1998 . On February 10, 1998 the ship drove for the first time for the Finnish Eckerö Line (subsidiary of Rederiaktiebolaget Eckerö ) between Helsinki ( Länsisatama - German West Harbor) and Tallinn (A-Terminal in Vanasadam - German Old Harbor).
On October 28, 2006, the ship collided with the quay wall in Tallinn and leaked.
On January 29, 2010, the ship stayed in the ice for six hours off Helsinki. The superstar and Baltic Princess came to the rescue. On February 12, 2010, the same thing happened again, the ship was freed from icebreakers.
On January 1, 2013, the Nordlandia was withdrawn from the Helsinki - Tallinn route, but from January 7, 2013 it was re-used as a cargo ferry on the same route. From March 29, 2013, the ship was launched in Kopli .
Isabella 1 (2013-2016)
In June 2013 the Nordlandia was sold to the Isabella Cruise Company, it came under the flag of Belize, its home port was Belize City , it was renamed Isabella 1 . In the same month Acciona Trasmediterranea chartered the ship and operated it between Almería and Nador from July to October 2013 . From October 2016 the ship was rebuilt in Perama . The charter to Acciona from August 2014 did not materialize, the ship was first launched in Eleusis Bay and from September 2014 in Kinosoura . Paradise Cruise & Ferry chartered the ship from November 2014 . In 2015 Acciona chartered the Isabella 1 .
Alarimya (since 2016)
In January 2016, Cia Trasmediterranea SA bought the ship and renamed it Almariya . Since then it has chartered Trasmediterranea . On September 8, 2017, an engine room fire broke out off Nador . It has been in use between Almería and Nador since January 2018 .
Sister ship
The Almariya has a sister ship , as Olau Britannia built Moby Zaza Italian shipping company Moby Lines .
