The Fischbach is an almost ten kilometer long left and west tributary of the Gersprenz in the Darmstadt-Dieburg district in Hesse .

The Fischbach rises on the eastern edge of the Modautal - Lützelbach location , just east of the 405 meter high transition into the Modau valley system , flows through some districts of the Fischbachtal community named after it in a general north-east direction and flows into the Gersprenz near Groß-Bieberau .

The Fischbach is a silicate low mountain range and its dominant fish region is the Lower Trout Region . The catchment area of the Fischbach is 3,791.91 hectares and its mean flow rate (MQ) 396 l / s. Its biological quality components are classified as moderate. It has 21 impassable or largely impassable obstacles to migration, and in terms of its structural quality , almost 95% are viewed as deficient.
