Florian Peter Hahn (born March 14, 1974 in Munich ) is a German politician. As a member of the CSU , he has been a member of the German Bundestag since the election to the 17th Bundestag in autumn 2009 .

Since 2018 he has been the European policy spokesman for the CDU / CSU parliamentary group and chairman of the European Union Affairs working group and a full member of the European Union Affairs Committee.

From 2014 to 2018 he was spokesman for the CSU regional group for foreign affairs, defense, European Union affairs, economic cooperation and development, human rights and humanitarian aid. In addition, Florian Hahn has been the state chairman of the working group Foreign, Security and European Policy (ASP) of the CSU since 2014 . Here he also heads the Foreign Policy Committee.

Life and work

After high school at Luitpold-Gymnasium in Munich, he completed his military service in the mountain infantry troops . He then attended the Bavarian Academy for Advertising and Marketing (BAW), which he left with a degree in Marketing Specialist (BAW) . Since December 2006 he has been completing a part-time MBA course at the University for Continuing Education in Krems . Hahn worked in the press and public relations department of the arms company Krauss-Maffei Wegmann .

Florian Hahn is a Protestant , married and the father of two children.

Political party

Florian Hahn began his political career in 1989 when he joined Junge Union Bayern . He has been a member of the CSU since 1992. From 1999 to 2006 he was JU district chairman in Munich-Land and from 1998 to 2003 a member of the JU state committee and the JU German council. He was regional manager of the Junge Union Bayern. From 2004 to 2012 he was the local chairman in Putzbrunn . From 2003 to 2009 he was deputy head of politics and party work of the CSU, state manager and member of the federal board of the local political association of the CSU (KPV) , the Union of Expellees (UdV) and the Evangelical Working Group (EAK) . Since 2005 he has been a member of the CSU district board. He has been a member of the party executive committee since 2013.

In the 2014 local elections , Hahn was re-elected to the district council of the Munich district . Hahn has been CSU district chairman in Munich-Land since 2015.

In 2019 Hahn was appointed Deputy Secretary General of the CSU. According to the Foreign and Security Policy Working Group of the CSU, he should "stand up for the issues of foreign and security policy at national and European level and, as a politician with campaign experience, strengthen the team around CSU General Secretary Markus Blume ."

Political offices

After the local elections in the spring of 1996, he took on his first political mandate in the Putzbrunn municipal council . There he was elected chairman of the CSU parliamentary group in 2005. From 2002 to 2008 he was a district councilor and financial officer in the Munich district. As the successor to the no longer running Bavarian Finance Minister Georg Fahrenschon , Florian Hahn was elected on February 14, 2009 as a direct candidate of the CSU for the Bundestag constituency Munich-Land . After the Bundestag election in 2009 , he moved into the German Bundestag as a directly elected member for the first time and has since defended his direct mandate in every election.

Florian Hahn is a full member of the Defense Committee and Chairman of the European Union Affairs Committee. He is a deputy member of the Committee for Economic Cooperation and Development. From 2014 to 2018 he was spokesman for the CSU regional group for foreign affairs, defense, European Union affairs, economic cooperation and development, human rights and humanitarian aid. Florian Hahn has been the European policy spokesman for the CDU / CSU parliamentary group since 2018.

Outside employment

Florian Hahn was a member of the IABG Supervisory Board until 2017 . He referred to this outside activity in 2013 covers the Stage 3 and Stage 4 2014 after the stage model for members of the German Bundestag . Furthermore, he was deputy chairman of the supervisory board of the Putzbrunn GmbH community until 2010. He was also a member of the advisory board of Quantum-Systems GmbH in Otterfing .

Hahn came under fire in October 2016 after researching the news magazine Der Spiegel and the ARD broadcast Report Mainz ; As a member of the Defense Committee and as a reporter for the Union parliamentary group, the member of the Bundestag campaigned for projects from which the IABG is said to have benefited directly. Hahn rejected the allegations and stated that before his candidacy for the Bundestag he had a legal check whether this supervisory board position was permissible in connection with a Bundestag mandate, which he received "one hundred percent" positive.

Volunteering

Florian Hahn is committed to since 2002 as a member of the Board or Advisory Committee of the Association of Friends of the Realschule Neubiberg eV In addition, he is since 2013 Vice President of the syndicate German Luftwaffe eV Since 2014 he is Vice Chairman of the soldiers and veterans Foundation (SVS) and since 2015 Chairman of the Stiftung Lebenshilfe Munich. Hahn is also a member of the non-partisan European Union Germany , which advocates a federal Europe and the European unification process. Since 2014 he has been president of the "Berliner Fraktion", the fan club of FC Bayern Munich in the Bundestag.
