The Bundestag constituency Munich-Land (constituency 221, in the federal elections 2009 and 2013 constituency 222) has been an electoral district in Bavaria since 1949 . It includes the district of Munich . Since 1953, the constituency has always been won by the direct candidates of the CSU .

After Günther Beckstein had appointed his cabinet in Bavaria in 2007, Georg Fahrenschon became State Secretary in the Bavarian State Ministry of Finance , thus giving up his mandate in the Bundestag. On October 30, 2008, Fahrenschon became Bavarian Minister of Finance. The direct candidate of the Greens, Anton Hofreiter, also entered the Bundestag via the state list . The constituency of Munich-Land was therefore not represented by any directly elected MPs in Berlin from the end of 2007 until the 2009 Bundestag election.
