After Günther Beckstein had appointed his cabinet in Bavaria in 2007, Georg Fahrenschon became State Secretary in the Bavarian State Ministry of Finance , thus giving up his mandate in the Bundestag. On October 30, 2008, Fahrenschon became Bavarian Minister of Finance. The direct candidate of the Greens, Anton Hofreiter, also entered the Bundestag via the state list .
