Albert Probst
Albert Probst (born December 29, 1931 in Garching ; † March 24, 2015 in Munich ) was a German politician ( CSU ). From 1982 to 1991 he was Parliamentary State Secretary at the Federal Minister for Research and Technology .
education and profession
After graduating from high school in 1951 at the Maximiliansgymnasium in Munich, Probst first made an agricultural apprenticeship, which he completed with the assistant test. He then studied agricultural science at the Technical University of Munich . The study he completed in 1958 as a graduate - agricultural engineer . In 1953 in Munich he became a member of the Catholic student association KDSt.V. Agilolfia in Freising in the CV . After graduating, he passed the state examination for the higher agricultural civil service. He then worked as a research assistant at the Dairy Science Institute at the Technical University of Munich. In 1961, he was here with the paper "On hereditary influences on the milk protein content - studies on three Simmental cattle" to Dr. agr. PhD .
After two years as a special consultant for agriculture in Upper Franconia , Albert Probst returned to the Technical University of Munich in 1963. Here he supervised a research project in the field of population genetics . At the same time, the scientist was involved in local politics.

Albert Probst was married and had four children, 13 grandchildren and 6 siblings.
Political party
For many years he was the deputy chairman of the CSU's cultural and political working group .
MP
From 1960 to 1973 Probst belonged to the district council of the Munich-Land district . He was also a member of Garching's municipal council from 1966 to 1990.
Probst was a member of the German Bundestag from 1969 to 1998 . From 1972 to 1976 he was Chairman of the Committee on Education and Science and from 1976 to 1982 Chairman of the Committee on Research and Technology.
Until 1982 he held the office of chairman of the working group on education, science and journalism of the CSU regional group.
Probst has always entered the Bundestag as a directly elected member of the constituency of Munich-Land or Freising .
From 1991 to 1999 Probst represented Germany in the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe and in the Assembly of the Western European Union .
Public offices
On October 4, 1982 Probst was used as Parliamentary Secretary at the Federal Ministry for Research and Technology in by Chancellor Helmut Kohl led government appointed. Here he campaigned vehemently for an early teaching of the use of (micro) computers in school. After the Bundestag election in 1990 , he left the government on January 24, 1991.
