Florian Liewehr

Florian Liewehr (born  August 3, 1945 in Seefeld in Tirol - December 8, 2014 ) was an Austrian actor who had been a member of the Burgtheater in Vienna for over 40 years .

life and work

Liewehr came from a theater family. His father Fred Liewehr was a castle actor and director of the Mörbisch Seefestspiele , his mother Martha Rohs (1909–1963) sang at the Vienna State Opera and was finally appointed chamber singer . Florian Liewehr first appeared at the Burgtheater in 1967.

In 1969 he played the ossorio in Tirso de Molina's Don Gil from the green pants at the Bregenz Festival ; it was a production by the Vienna Burgtheater. In 1970 he made his debut at the Salzburg Festival as second actor in Oskar Werner's Hamlet production. From 1982 to 1984 he played there - at the side of Helmuth Lohner and Otto Schenk - the wanker in Nestroys Zerrissenem , from 1990 to 1992 he took over the role of the thin cousin in Jedermann am Domplatz.

In 1970 Liewehr became a member of the Burgtheater ensemble and played - alongside Klausjürgen Wussow - the Harry Compass in Hasenclever's comedy Ein betterer Herr ; it was staged by Boy Gobert . This was followed by Ferdinand in Goethe's Egmont and Bulanow in Ostrowski's Der Wald . In 1973 he took part in the television show Dalli Dalli , and in the 1975–76 season he was a guest at the Stadttheater St. Pölten in Der Mann von La Mancha . At the Burgtheater he took on more than 80 roles until his retirement and worked with many well-known directors, including Roberto Guiccardini , Hans Hollmann , Gerhard Klingenberg , Leopold Lindtberg , Claus Peymann and Otto Schenk . His roles spanned a broad spectrum - the fire in Nestroy's posse The Secret of the Gray House , Bushy and Norfolk in Shakespeare's royal dramas Richard II and Richard III. , Siro in Machiavelli's Mandragola , Paul Kreindl in Arthur Schnitzler's Das weite Land and Count Adam in Hugo von Hofmannsthal's Der Turm . With Peymann's Richard III. Liewehr made a guest appearance at the Berlin Theatertreffen in 1987 .

In 2009 he was elected as the Burgtheater's ensemble representative, and from October 14, 2010 he was named chamber actor .
